'La Furiosa' – Bike Ride
Sunday 5th March 2023

An organized 67 km bike ride to discover the beauty of the Ferrarese
countryside with stops along the way for refreshments and to admire orchards,
fields and riverbanks which define the local area. The return journey will
naturally take cyclists along the majestic River Po and the historical city walls
until their arrival in the centre where there will be a pasta party for all the
hungry participants! Visit the website for further details about costs and

Celebrating Women’s Day – 8th March
Admission to the Estense Castle, municipal and state museums is free of
charge for all female visitors on this day.

Granfondo Del Po 9th Edition – Professional Cycling Race

If you are interested in participating in a professional cycling race then visit the
official website above, which is also in English. The last day for enrolling is on
Saturday 11th March.

On Sunday 12th, roads around the city centre and leading in and out of Ferrara
may be closed temporarily.

Children’s Theatre at the Pinacoteca Nazionale

Once a month, the Pinacoteca is organizing a theatre performance for
children in its beautiful Salone d’Onore. Through art, music, words and
dancing, these productions set out to explore the wonderful world of animals
and nature, encouraging both children and adults to reflect on life on Earth
and taking care of it. At the end of each performance, time is time for talking
to the actors, musicians, dancers and artists.

‘L’Arco di Noé’
Sunday 19th March, 5 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.

Inspired by the biblical story ‘Noah’s Ark’, a ‘new’ Noah strives to save the
animal kingdom from a world of climatic change and pollution. Meet the
animals one by one as they set out for a cleaner and more peaceful world.

Ticket Office:

The ticket office is inside Palazzo dei Diamanti’s foyer. The entrance to the Pinacoteca is
inside the courtyard, in the left-hand corner.

The children’s theatre is free. Visitors are asked to pay just the entrance fee to the
Pinacoteca which costs €8 for adults. If you have a Coop card, Fai card or you are a student
there are further discounts. Children up to the age of 18 are free.

It is advisable to book tickets in advance for the theatre performances but it is not

Opening times for the Pinacoteca: Tuesdays to Sundays (and holidays) 10 a.m. – 5.30 p.m.
Closed on Mondays.

Thursday 16th March – Two centuries of music represented by the mandolin,
harpsichord and piano with music from Vivaldi, Beethoven, Paolucci, Munier
and Calace

Thursday 23rd March – Quartet: clarinet, violin, viola and cello

Thursday 30th March – ‘La sincera storia di Mackie Messer’- lyrical
