Course Report We consistently have issues with golfers not repairing pitch marks and not raking bunkers, I’ve had a lot of feedback on the golf course from both members and visitors most of which is very positive but the bunkers remain the number one complaint, lack of consistency in sand depth, playability from the bunkers in terms The great weather over the past couple of months has been very welcome, this however has put pressure of golfers not being able to gain a proper stance and bunkers not being raked. Below is a typical example of on our irrigation system and as referenced in my email in June we don’t have the capacity to irrigate the tee how some golfers leave the bunkers after playing their shot. boxes to the same level as the greens. With the likelihood of the good weather continuing we have a plan in place to pump the water from the pond on the 6th yellow to our reservoir ensuring we have enough water to maintain the course. I would like to thank member Vincent Conroy, Colm Murphy our head greenkeeper and Tommy Rusk operations manager for putting this in place and getting it done at a minimum cost to the club. Members can help with the raking of bunkers they have recently We have recently installed three new clock signs on the first hole of each nine that have been received well played from and leaving the rake by the members, we also reinstated the bench on the 5th Red donated by the Family and friends of the late back in the bunker. Kieron Dolphin, and in addition we have placed a new bench beside the putting green. Darragh Smith Course Convenor As we are in the middle of the golfing season the practice ground and in particular the new pitching green is getting a lot of use, can members please use the facility in the way it should be used, recently we had another incident where a member was hitting balls back down the practice area which the management committee has consistently asked members not to do. So, the ClubNet app is backward compatible to devices for the past 5 years. This is not an issue for Android users as Google are not as strict as Apple. Sadly, this is a decision of Apple Inc. which will affect a minority of people who have not upgraded to iOS11.
