Newsletter & Class Schedule for High Country Quilts • 2021-2 • $2.00 At High Country Quilts? As we reflect on 2021 so far, we are very thankful that more events and classes are finally on the agenda again! It’s nice to see everyone’s smile and enjoy the camaraderie. Our Rocky Mountain Shop Hop has expanded to the North and South, with four great new shops added to the mix. The dates for this year’s Shop Hop are August 5-21… over 2 weeks of hopping fun! Join us for a celebration of ‘Colorado Favorites’! Speaking of fun events, Quilt-a-Fair is returning to the Boulder County Fairgrounds! Be sure to mark your calendar for September 24 & 25. It is always a wonderful show with many beautiful quilts on display as well as lots of vendors for your shopping pleasure. For those of you who love to ‘serge’, Billie and Bonnie are going to show you how to get creative with your serger. Join them for ‘Serger Club’ as you create some fun, simple projects. Also in the line-up are some classes that are just for ME (machine embroidery). ‘Stitching it up for the holidays’ is back with some great new gift ideas. We also have several wonderful short project classes to offer. Many of you have asked about our ‘military’ “Bootiful Bouquet” that is hanging in the store, so we decided to make it a class. And you’ll be happy to know that there are seven other ‘boots’ to choose from. And of course there are some returning favorites…’Painless Paper Piecing’ and ‘Seams Raggy’ just to name a few. Our upcoming Block of the month is ‘Greystone’ featuring ‘Sticks and Stones’ by Island Batik in beautiful blues and greys. Since we actually will be able to attend Quilt Market this fall, we are planning our annual (15 years worth!) ‘After Market Party’ for Sunday, Dec 5 from 2:00-5:00. So, be sure to Save the Date! It is going to be a great party! We already have some wonderful things planned for 2022! We hope you all have remained well. It has been a difficult time for everyone, and we want to thank you all for your warm wishes and support. We are looking forward to seeing you soon. Have a ‘pieceful’ day, Jean and Karen
