Jose Marti MAST 6-12 Academy is an Advanced Academics school. • Middle School students take Advanced Level classes. • High School students take Honors Level classes or higher. • 100% of High School students graduate with a minimum of 1 Advanced Placement (college level) credit. • We offer 25 different Advanced Placement courses. • Students also can take Dual Enrollment classes through Miami-Dade College.

• Organization is the key! • Routine at home • Agendas • Good Attendance • Write down all your assignments every • Be in school and on time every day day!! • Bookbags • Turn in all assignments! • Don’t wait until the last minute • Some students find it easier to have separate bags for Odd and Even days. • Check your Student Portal • Color coding folders • Set up Gradebook alerts on • Odd/Even • Homework folder the Parent Portal
When you aren’t in school, you are falling behind! • Absences are UNEXCUSED until documentation is brought in. • Students must bring in a note from the parent or a doctor and obtain an Admit before school in the cafeteria to have an absence excused. • Excessive unexcused absences or tardies may result in academic probation. Students on probation will be excluded from extracurricular activities and events (including fieldtrips). • Students who accumulate 10 or more unexcused absences or tardies in a school year may not be invited to return.

As such, students are expected to maintain excellent grades, conduct, and attendance. • Middle School students must have a 2.0 GPA in each core class. • High School students must have a 2.5 GPA in each core class. • Students must not receive any Ds or Fs in any subject or in conduct.

All 10th Graders take AP Capstone Seminar! • Follow Ms. De los Reyes on Twitter @peachreyes for important summer reading. • There will be a test once school begins on the topics she posts. • Details are posted with the Summer AP Assignments !
Some basic supplies that you will need. Please keep in mind that some of your teachers may have more specific requirements. However, this list will give you a fantastic start for this school year! • Three ring binders • Black & Blue pens • Composition books • Pencil with Eraser • 1 ruler • USB (16GB minimum) • Graph Paper • Highlighters • Notebook Paper • Pencil sharpener (handheld) • Color pencils/markers • Protractor • Post-its (of various colors if possible) • Wired Headphones/Ear buds
Calculators required by Course: 6th Grade- Basic four function calculator 7th Grade Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, & Geometry Scientific calculator Algebra 2 and above - graphing calculator (TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition-color, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, TI-Nspire CX-color )

Grey) Polo Shirts • Shirts must display the MAST Logo • Khaki or Navy Blue Pants • No Shorts, Capris, Skorts, or Skirts • All pants must fit properly and be secured at the waist • Sneakers or other closed-toe shoes • No sandals, Crocs, Open-Toe shoes, etc. • Jackets & Sweaters must be navy blue, white, grey or black. • Open in the front (Cardigan style, not pullover) • No Hoods!

• Please remember to keep us informed! • If you have a new phone number, address, or email, be sure to let us know. • Health Records- Don’t forget to bring us new Immunization forms as soon as vaccines are given. • Required Tdap booster before 7th grade • New DH 680 form must be submitted to school • PLEASE don’t wait until the last minute or your child will not be allowed to start school on the first day of 7th grade.

We do our best to make sure parents know about school events. There are several ways for you to stay informed! Check our school website frequently! The Calendar found on our website lists daily class schedules, events, club meetings, and more.
