Bulletin No. 963 Friday 18th December 2020 @LadyLanePark School has been full of excitement this week; pupil’s have been celebrating the end of term with ‘Movie afternoons’, picnic lunches, competitions and much more; I am sure they are all ready for a much needed rest. I would like to say a special thank you to Mrs Thompson and everyone else who has been involved in our fantastic Christmas Lunches this week, absolutely delicious and enjoyed by all. Christ- mas Jumper day has been lots of fun today and once again, I would like to thank you for your generous donations for some very important causes. School council have been working hard this Christmas to raise donations for charity and have been brilliant this week’s Christmas competition, thank you to Mrs Moffat, Freddie & Holly for all your hard work. This week we have said goodbye to Mrs Earl and Madam Bewell and I would like to take this final opportunity to wish them all the very best in their future ventures. In January, Madam Maclean will join Lady Lane to take up the role of French Specialist. Madam Maclean has a great deal of experience in both Primary and Senior Schools; including Harrogate Grammar & Skipton Girls High School, where she has taught both French and German. We look forward to welcoming Madam Maclean in to school on our first week back. Miss Holmes is looking forward to a very special Christmas when she will be getting married on Christmas Eve, we wish her a fantastic wedding and will welcome her back as Mrs Fielden in January. Finally, we are over the moon to announce that Miss Creasey is expecting a child in 2021. Miss Creasey will be in Lower Kindergarten for a while yet before leaving for maternity leave, however we wish her and her family a super Christmas (with lots of rest!). Finally, we would all like to say thank you for Christmas gifts, we are al overwhelmed with your generosity. Although it is always a lovely surprise to receive a gift; the smiling faces of our pupils is the best gift of all and I have certainly seen many of these around school this week. Have a very Happy Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all in the New Year. Mr Saunders & The Staff at Lady Lane Park
COVID-19 Reporting during the Christmas Holidays. After we close today for the Christmas Holidays, we will remain contactable via email up until, and including, Thursday 24th December for parents to notify us of any positive cases of coronavirus, where symptoms have developed within 48 hours of being in school. Please email: secretary@ladylanepark.co.uk and use the subject of COVID-19 so we can quickly identify the content of your email. - If a pupil tests positive for COVID-19, having developed symptoms up to, and including, Sunday 20th December please email secretary@ladylanepark.co.uk. School can then identify other pupils and/or staff who have been in close contact and would also need to isolate. - If a pupils develops symptoms after Sunday 20th December, please do not contact school. In this instance, you would need to book a test as soon as possible and following NHS guidance. If you require further support with any queries relating to Coronavirus please contact the Department for Education helpline on 0800 046 8687 option 4. Snow/Bad Weather Warnings If school will not be opening due to a heavy fall of snow or in fact closed for any reason, we will issue a text message. Sometimes it is possible to open the school later than usual to allow us to secure the site and make it as safe as possible, and again we would use our text messaging service to notify you of this. In some instances, when conditions worsen during the school day, please take the initiative to collect your child as soon as possible. There is no necessity to telephone, just come. We would, of course, remain in school until the last child has been collected. It would be inappropriate for children to be left in Crèche under such circumstances and all after-school activities would likewise be cancelled. If conditions are extremely icy, please do not take any undue risk to yourselves (or your cars!). In such circum- stances we will understand if your child is later than usual getting to school, or you decide not to risk the jour- ney at all. Much better to be safe than sorry, for you and especially your children, are very precious, again there is no need to telephone the school. Dear Parents, I have recently become an Usborne independent seller and would like to tell you about how this can benefit school. For parents of Lady Lane, I would like to offer a 10% discount every time you order any books through me, and I will also be donating an amount of books (dependent on the orders received) to the school library. Eventually, I would like to place enough orders to qualify for the school scheme, where every order I place equates to free books across the school. Please like my Facebook page @beasbookclub and/or my Instagram page @bookclubbeas and message with any order queries! Alternatively I have an usborne website at https://usborne.com/gb/organiser/Beas_bookclub where you can order direct from usborne without my parent discount. Thank you for your support, let's get our school library and reading areas full of fabulous new books! Miss Holmes.
