Summer Enrichment Week Theme Parks of Paris Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July 2020 Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July 2020 At SET Saxmundham School, we believe in ‘providing a foundation for life’. Each student should make three choices in order of preference on the ParentMail form Lunch and dinner included at the park. (1 = first choice, 2 = second choice, 3 = third choice). Wednesday: Breakfast at hotel. Parc Astérix for the day. It should be noted by parents / carers that the prices quoted for each activity are already subsidised and Lunch and dinner included at the park. therefore any applications made for subsidies will be assessed with that in mind. Thursday: Breakfast and travel back to Saxmundham. We hope you will agree there is a huge range of choice for students in this brochure. The Best of Humanities Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July 2020 The week begins with a trip to the countryside around Brighton where students will visit the beach at Birlington Gap and walk on the chalk cliffs that form Beachy Head. The group will then travel into Brighton to visit the brilliant Jungle Brighton Pavilion before spending some time on the pier and beach. Back in school students will look at the history ‘beneath their feet’ by taking part in archaeology activities and completing research for the trip the following day; a day trip to beautiful historic Bruges in Belgium. Here the group will have a guided boat tour of the canals and walk Installation round the historic centre before having some time to visit the shops to buy some Belgian chocolate. On the last day students will investigate the legend of Black Shuck in the classroom and visit Blythburgh to look for evidence of the Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July 2020 Beast. Please note: whilst in Brighton and Bruges students will be allowed to go off in small groups in certain areas (e.g. Brighton Pier and shopping streets in Bruges) and will be under remote supervision. Let’s Get Sports Week Active Monday 29 June - Monday 29 June - Thursday 2 July 2020 Thursday 2 July 2020 This is an opportunity for students who are sports mad or for someone who would like to try something new. Students will participate in a wide range of sporting activities including: Cricket, Tennis, Football, Rounders, Tchoukball, Join in with Let’s Get Active and enjoy four days of adventure. Handball, Softball, Capture the Flag and Fitness. The week will begin with two days at Thorpe Woodlands Adventure Monday: In school activities. Centre in Thetford. Here we will be taking part in a variety of activities ranging from climbing to raft building. On Wednesday the group will visit Tuesday: In school activities.
