Immerse yourself in the world of London Theater! In July 2021, join Exeter alumni and parents for a special tour with Sarah Ream ’75, Instructor in Theater and Dance. London Theater July 24 – August 1, 2021 Trip Highlights: • See six plays, reflecting the best of current theater, in Palace of Westminster, London Britain’s capital • Attend Harkness sessions each morning for enriching discussions of the plays seen the previous day • Go behind the scenes in the world of London theater as you join in conversations with directors, producers, and stars • Stay at the historic, five-star Haymarket Hotel in the heart of London’s theater district • Savor festive welcome and farewell dinners with fellow Exonians Haymark Hotel Lounge Traveling with You: Sarah Ream ’75, Instructor in Theater and Dance After graduating from Exeter and Yale, Ms. Ream continued to London for graduate school in acting. Returning stateside, she worked as a theater director in New York and San Francisco. Then it was back to London, where she taught at drama schools and directed plays in London. She also worked as a staff director at the National Theatre and as a freelance director for English regional theaters. In 1997, Ms. Ream joined Exeter’s Theater and Dance Department. In addition to teaching, she has advised drama clubs, co-founded the Shakespeare Conference, and participated in the development of the Goal Performing Arts center on campus. She brings this depth of expertise and an insider’s view to the Exeter Expeditions London Theater Tour. Accommodations: The elegant Haymarket Hotel, designed by architect John Nash, is in the heart of the theater district. Each room is decorated in a contemporary English style and features Wi-Fi, flat-screen LCD TV, and a writing desk. The hotel has an indoor pool and an exercise room. Land Rate: $5,995 (per person, double occupancy) / $7,495 (single rate) Rate includes accommodations for seven (7) nights at the Haymarket Hotel; breakfast daily; welcome and farewell dinners with wine; gratuities and theater tickets; and entrance fees for special events. Airfare is not included. Please note: Plays will be selected by Ms. Ream in Spring 2021 once schedules are finalized and theater tickets are available for purchase. Walk back to the hotel together after the show.
