Guard us from war, from fire and wind, from compromise, fear, confusion. Be close to our president and our statesmen; give them vision and courage, as they ponder decisions affecting peace and the future of the world. Make me more deeply aware of my heritage; realizing not only my rights but also my duties and responsibilities as a citizen. As a pastor, I am particularly challenged by these words of Dr. Recently, an activist called for the destruction or removal of King’s which I quoted two weeks ago in my homily. what he called white images of Jesus. He said: “Yes, I think the statues of the white European they claim is Jesus should “For those who are telling me to keep my mouth shut, I can’t also come down. And we must know on some positions, cowardice asks the question, “Is it now, people of various cultures have depicted Jesus in ways safe?” Expediency asks the question, “Is it politic?” Vanity that look like themselves. The Bible give us no physical asks the question, “Is it popular?” But conscience asks the description of the Lord nor are there photographs. Every honest pastor know the temptation to only speak what is safe, what politic, and what is popular. To speak what is right requires not self-righteousness but humility, study and prayer. Our prayerful support goes out to the familiy of Harold Brenner May God’s consolation and peace be with them “And then I heard the angel say, ‘he’s with you every day.’” Two guys are walking through a game park & they come across a lion that has not eaten for days. The lion starts chasing the two men. They run as fast as they can and the one guy starts getting tired and decides to say a prayer, "Please turn this lion into a Christian, Lord." He looks to see if the lion is still chasing and he sees the lion on its knees. Happy to see his prayer answered, he turns around and heads towards the lion. As he comes closer to the lion, he hears it saying a prayer: "Thank you Lord for the food I am about to receive."
