A note from the president….
Welcome to the 2021-2022 Little Athletics season
at Woolgoolga Athletics Club (WAC).

Little Athletics is a family sport, and everyone
should be involved. We aim to encourage children
to participate in sport and improve their skills within
their own abilities, whilst creating friendships. Children love to run, jump
and throw and have a good time with their friends.

We have a new centre website, www.woolgoolgaathletics.com.au and a
Woolgoolga athletics facebook page. Both of these will be the main
source of information for our members, make sure you check them
regularly for updates. I look forward to meeting you all and enjoying a
fantastic season.

Yours in sport,
Lesley White

connecting to a laptop, records and uploads track

posted to our FB page. If you do not wish to have photos taken of either
yourself or an athlete, please let a committee member know.

                  Safety & Other Rules
Like all organisations, Little Athletics has rules. Rules are there to ensure
the safety of all athletes, parents and visitors. We ask everyone to cooperate
and to keep to the rules so that we can all enjoy our Tuesday nights in safety.
All athletes must be registered with LANSW before they participate.

Working with Children
Of utmost importance is the safety and well being of all children and adults.
Volunteers without children in their care, have working with children approval.
We ask all parents to be vigilant and report to the committee anything they
feel is of concern in regards to the safety of children.

No Smoking & Alcohol
There is a strict no smoking and no alcohol policy at WAC. Designated area,
where you are able to smoke, is across from the car park.

Insurance
All registered athletes and parent volunteers who sign in are covered by
insurance taken out by Little Athletics Australia. If a parent fails to sign in,
they are not covered by insurance and not permitted on the field.

NO DOGS
Although we know our furry friends are often classed as family, the
sportsground has a NO PETS policy.

Equipment and the Grounds
Please be mindful when officiating, participating and walking around
the grounds. Runners should not have to worry about other people on
the track during their race. Keep in mind that shot puts, javelins,
discusses and hammers will not bounce off you.

OUR CARNIVAL DAY! – January Date TBA
Each year we hold a carnival in January. It is one of
the biggest local carnivals in our zone. We open the
canteen for this event and it requires many helpers
on the day to run smoothly. Our carnival is a major
fundraising event for the club, so please make sure
you get involved and come along!

                            Award Structure
The aim of our club point score system is to encourage all athletes to

but instead for participating and improving. Points are awarded as below:
- Participating in an event 1 point
- For equalling Personal Best (PB) 2 points
- For attaining a Personal Best (PB) 3 points
At the conclusion of the season we then award bronze (75 pts), silver (100 pts),
and gold (200 pts) medals. There are also perpetual trophies awarded for
throwing, best performance at state or nationals, and highest point scorer.

              Presentation Day – date TBA
We hold our presentation days at the field each year. We run fun
relays and a free sausage sizzle/ dessert bar. Something for everyone!
