Sharing our Joys and Concerns Pastor: The Lord be with you. People: And also with you. Pastor: Let us pray… Prayer The Prayer Jesus taught us Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Doxology SERVICE OF COMMUNION Invitation L: God be with you. P: And also with you. L: Lift up your hearts. P: We lift them to God. L: Let us give thanks to God Most High. P: It is right to give God thanks and praise. L: It is right, and a good and joyful thing to give thanks to you, Holy God… …we offer ourselves to you and join with your faithful people everywhere to glorify you: Holy, holy, holy, God of love and majesty, the whole universe speaks of your glory, O God Most High. Blessed is the one who comes in the name of our God! Hosanna in the highest! On the night of your betrayal… …Therefore, we proclaim the mystery of our faith: P: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. Sharing the Elements Prayer of Thanksgiving We give you thanks for your presence at this table. By the power of the Holy Spirit, keep us faithful to your will. Whether we are gathered or scattered, may we be the servant church of the servant Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. 3

The Thrift Shop is Back The Thrift Shop is back in business and in need of volunteer staffers on certain weekends: June 12th and all Saturdays in August and September. Individual churches are no longer in charge of assigned months. There will be two available slots for each Saturday so sign up with a buddy if you’d prefer to work with a friend. There will be a sign-up sheet in back of the church or you may contact the church office to submit your name. Masks are optional and all other procedures remain in effect. The sign up sheet for providing altar flowers for a Sunday in 2021 is on the table in the back of the church, or you may call or email Tammie in the church office. Please consider signing up to provide them for a Sunday or two in the new year. You may place them in honor or memory of someone who is special to you. Consider selecting a Sunday that coincides with their birthday or another special day. You may wish to give a donation to the altar flower fund instead. Make the check out to “Glade UCC” and on the memo line, write “Altar Flower Fund.” Food Bank Suggestions Summer at the Food Bank means fewer donations are received, and our shelves can get bare. Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation, and neither do our clients. Donate a food item for every day you are on vacation (or every day you wish you were on vacation). If you have a garden, please remember the Food Bank. Our clients love fresh garden fruit and vegetables throughout the summer. Garden produce can be dropped off at the Food Bank Mondays, 6:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m. or Thursdays, 1:00 p.m.– 3:00 p.m., lower level of Walkersville Town Hall. 5

Sympathy Stephen E. Angleberger, 71, of Frederick, MD, loving husband, father, and brother, traveled to be in the comfort of the Lord's arms on May 28, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 13, 1949 in Frederick, MD, to the late Frances and Preston Angleberger. Steve was easygoing, and had a delightful (albeit a little quirky) sense of humor. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed gatherings with them at home or at music gigs. Other than family, playing drums was the love of his life. He was an enthusiastic and well-known drummer throughout Frederick County and loved playing with a number of musicians and bands for over 50 years. Steve graduated from Walkersville High School. During his life he had many hats, (literally he loved hats) but worked as a milkman, truck driver, bus driver, bicycle shop owner, small engine mechanic, and worked for a number of years at Fredericktowne Yamaha. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, his loving son Taylor Angleberger and wife Kelly; brother, Michael Angleberger and wife Janie; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who he enjoyed. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Saturday June 5, 2021 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mtn Hwy (US 15 N) Frederick. Masks are optional for those who have been fully vaccinated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Frederick County Hospice, or visit Steve's obituary on www.resthaven.us to plant a memorial tree in his honor. GLADE UCC STAFF Rev.
