I trust that everyone had a great break and is ready for an action packed term, focussed on the needs of our kids as learners. Classes have been set up and teachers report that the kids have returned to their learning in a positive and engaging way. Please do not hesitate to let me know if your child is anxious or worried about any- thing and we will support them to feel confident and happy at school. Your role in your child’s education is integral to their success, so please be sure to let us know if you need anything! Make sure you find our Frank Partridge VC PS Facebook page and like it. Lots of great photos, posts and information will be sent out through this page. Of course, we will continue with our weekly newsletter and our school website is continually updated. If your child is away for any reason then please let us know. We understand that absences are unavoida- ble from time to time, but if we can all work together to keep them to a minimum then this will make an incredible difference to what your child can achieve throughout 2021. If there are issues causing the ab- sences then please let us know. Please keep an eye out for our Meet the Teacher notes. Each classroom teacher will set aside a time to meet with our parents and carers in Week 3 and this is a great chance for you to find out a little more about your child’s daily learning opportunities. If you can’t make the meeting then don’t stress. Give me a ring and we will sort something out. Over the coming weeks I will introduce our teams of educators through our newsletter so please keep your eye out each Tuesday. The newsletter will come home with your oldest child in the afternoon. Some- times they make their way right down the bottom of their bag so you may have to go digging! Notes for our Swimming Carnival and District Swimming Carnival, held in Week 4, will come home very soon. Please return them to the office as soon as you can. This carnival is children turning 8 this year and older. The 2 carnivals are on a Wednesday and Friday in the same week so some of our swimmers will be very busy! Unfortunately, Macksville Pool has its own Covid Plan and will not allow any spectators into these events. Staff and students only. I am working on this for our community, but we must respect the guidelines of the venue. Have a great week and please do not hesitate to contact me if you need support or have any concerns. By working together we will make the biggest difference! Todd. Swimming Carnival - Wednesday 17th February District Swimming Carnival - Friday 19th February
Updating Contact Details If you have moved, changed your phone number or emergency contact details, please let the school know. It is crucial that we have the correct details should we need to contact you urgently. Covid Safe Scan You will notice that we now have a QR Scanner in the foyer. Only visitors to the school and contractors will need to sign in, and parents who are here for an appointment. If you are here to drop off or pick up your child, you do not have to scan in. Care Packages At the end of last year, our school put together care packages to send to our service men and women de- ployed overseas. These packages were received with much gratitude from our soldiers. Below is a letter of thanks from one of these soldiers. Dear children of KD, Mrs Daley and Debbie, Thank you for the wonderful care package. The wooden Christmas tree brought a lot of holiday cheer to my desk. I am a soldier in the Australian Army. I have been in the Middle East for nearly 6 months, with 2 months left to go. I am looking forward to seeing my family and friends, as well as my two cats Bagel and Chilli. The photo of Nambucca Heads in your letter looks beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing the beach and trees again. Being in the Middle East has made me appreciate the beautiful Australian land we all have the luck to live on. Thank you again for your support.
