Adaptations What can you do to help your child to adapt to Nossal High School? Common issues:
“I am not as good as everyone else” “I am not smart anymore” “I am not doing as well as I used to” Imposter syndrome Can’t expect to be the best when you’re in a school made up of the best - unrealistic The work is harder – expect it to be me more challenging Don’t want to put an artificial ceiling on capacity – if they get 100% on an assessment we have not done our job properly The grading scale is harder Don’t put too much pressure on your child Understand the way they might be feeling Talk with them about these realities if they are disappointed Seek help
“I don’t like team teaching” “I feel lost in a class of 50 students”
