A Word from Pastor Tom Yea for us, we keep moving forward! After being closed for public worship for almost exactly a year (March 22, 2020, to March 7, 2021) we continue to take steps in getting back to “normal”. We’ve taken down all the “social distancing” signs so that you can sit “wherever” you want in the sanctuary. And there are now hymnals and Bibles back in the pews along with the red attendance books that are there for you to sign each Sunday. We now have more liturgy and responsive readings in the worship service and a number of “liturgists” that help in the worship service. We are also loudly singing three (3) hymns every Sunday, plus, in June we received seven (7) new members! We continue to press on. In July and from this day forward the drinking fountains are now uncovered and usable. “Movie Day” has been added on the fourth (4th) Wednesday of July and August. On September twelfth (12th) at 2:00 PM, we will host a very special concert by the “Sounds of the Southwest Singers”. This concert is entitled “Faith & Freedom” and is in remembrance of 9/11 2001. We will surely have a packed sanctuary for this exceptional event! I am so very pleased that First UMC is making these steps forward. God has brought us through to this point and I’m absolutely sure that God has much more in store for us in the coming weeks. Be sure to come and worship with us these coming Sundays beginning with July fourth (4th) weekend and help us continue to move forward! May God bless you and all those you love, Pastor Tom

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! You won’t want to miss this special event! This September marks the 20 year anniversary of 9/11. We are in the process, along with The Sounds of the Southwest Singers, of putting together a very special concert to remember those fallen on 9/11. We will have the Luke Air Force Base Honor Guard Color Detail, patriotic music, videos commemorating 9/11, along with other surprises. This will be like nothing the choir has ever done before and you won’t want to miss it. The concert will be Sunday, September 12th, at 2:00 pm. Invite your family and friends and let’s make sure we fill the sanctuary. Watch for further details as it gets closer.
