“transporting” Echo Darmstadt, July 2019 From the Artistic Director “outstanding” In 2020 the ACC embarks on another musical adventure. General Anzeiger Bonn, July 2019 2019 was exhilarating for everyone involved – singers, listeners, travellers and reviewers. We were invited to perform in St Martin-in-the-Fields and the cathedrals of “magical” Paris, Ribe, Bonn and Berlin. “There were tears”, wrote one Weekend Notes, August 2017 reviewer. These were tears of an exquisite nature, which glorious music, well sung can occasion. We revel in the music of all periods and relish the adventure of presenting newly-commissioned works. “another masterstroke” The Age, December 2018 For the singers and the thirty Friends who travelled with us in July 2019, the European tour was pure joy. After every concert we were invited to return. Standing ovations, foot stamping, yells and tears were testament to the “breathtakingly moving” ACC’s renown. What a privilege it is to bring enjoyment to Classic Melbourne, July, 2018 enthusiastic audiences. For 2020 we plan five quite different programs. Glory in the Fauré Requiem, rejoice in the power of Bach’s Genius and “It is no wonder that this realise your dreams by voting your favourite choral music was a sold out event” into our Top Ten Choral Classics program. These three programs with the full choir are bookended by programs Theatre Now, November 2018 with eight of our singers in the historic Mandeville Hall. The ACC8 begin the year with Cultural Capitals, a virtual tour through memorable choral works from famous cities where our singers have performed. We conclude the year with our pick of Christmas music from the Renaissance, Baroque and beyond. For each of these concerts, join us in the intimate space of the Mandeville Hall chapel, followed by a reception in the Oak Parlour. I invite you to join us for our 2020 season. Douglas Lawrence
