Please send your child to school with a mask (or two) every day! Masks have proven to be effective in limiting the transmission of the coronavirus and all students, staff, and adults in our building must wear one. However, we are going through masks very quickly. Please provide masks for your child(ren) each day. PPS Please join us for a first-of-its-kind meeting. Our new idea is to have the first ever PPS. Parish. Parents. School. The purpose of this new association is to build a strong partnership between our church and school community. Our overarching goal is to collaborate so that we can continue to enrich the lives of our students, as well as the hearts of our parish. While this organization will take on many of the roles of a PTO- fundraising, teacher appreciation, room parents, etc- there are so many other wonderful things happening at both our church and our school for us to share. Together we are stronger and everyone benefits. If you are interested in joining or just hearing more about this new endeavor please join us on Wednesday, September 15 at 6:15 PM in Duffey Hall (cafeteria) or call our principal, Mr. Gawrys, at 317-353-2282. Our Little Way trait for the next two weeks is “Do All Things With Love”. Today we discussed that love is about doing for others- “when one person struggles, we all struggle. When one person triumphs, we all triumph.” What can we do to lift others up? One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said…” I made a difference for that one.” Students have been encouraged to turn in the names of other students who are deserving of Little Way bucks. We want everyone to see the good kids are doing CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING Last year we focused on the seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching. THE LITTLE WAY God is first. Do all things with love. Do even the simplest of things to the best of your ability. Show integrity. Welcome everyone. Find the joy in everything. Make every day and every moment count. Serve the community. Strive for excellence. “I will seek out a means of getting to heaven by a LITTLE WAY.” ~ St. Therese 6
