\ Term 3 Newsletter 11/20 10 Sept 2020 Phone/Absence Line 04 902 5596 office@raumatibeach.school.nz Dear Parents and Guardians Welcome to spring! I am certainly noticing the brighter mornings and the sun setting a little later. The term is racing by with a little over two weeks to go! Please keep an eye out for information about the holiday programmes that will be run at RBS by sKids. This information will be shared directly by them in the next week. The refurbishment of Rooms 13 and 14 is well underway. The interiors have been stripped out and the roof on Room 14 which was problematic has been completely replaced. These classrooms, when upgraded will be wonderful learning environments for our year 7 and 8 students. The upgrade of Room 14 is particularly welcomed as it was well over due. You may also have noticed that we having been getting sections of the school re-roofed as well as new guttering, hopefully this too will make a difference. Over the past 18 months we have had a considerable amount of money put into new infrastructure. The roofing is the final part of this puzzle, we are hopeful when this is completed that we will be able to spend more of our property money on continuing to upgrade classrooms. Our next allocation of property money is due in the 2021/22 period. LEVEL 2 REQUEST Just a couple of reminders: Please Scan the QR code when entering the school grounds. We have printed new codes off and replaced the original ones as they had become difficult to scan. Please follow the one way system we have when entering or exiting the office. PARKING! A number of parents have received infringement notices from both the Police and KCDC. The two most problematic areas are outside the dental clinic on the broken yellow lines as well as the disability carpark adjacent to the crossing. (This is being used as a drop off.) Please park legally - it will save you a $60.00 infringement. TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAYS There are two Teacher Professional Development Days scheduled for Term 4. Please make a note of them in your calendar: - Tuesday 27th October (Tuesday after Labour Day) - Friday 20th November
