2/12/2021 A Brief Recent January 22, Governor Cuomo authorized the resumption of high risk sports: “practice and competitions in High Risk Sports can resume February 1, IF local Health Departments allow it.” January 27, guidelines for high risk sports. Most logistically challenging: Athletes, Officials, and Coaches will be tested for COVID weekly January 31, Ulster County Board of Health issued a memorandum that had information that overrode the January 27 guidelines ATHLETIC SEASONS & IMPORTANT DATES 4
2/12/2021 Season Start Dates Winter Fall 2 Spring 6 Weeks 7 Weeks 8 Weeks (Possibly 10 Weeks) January 19 March 1 April 19 FOCUS: Fall 2 Sports Season – Begins March 1 Spring Season – Begins April 19 Varsity Football and Volleyball – High Risk Until further clarification Modified Sports; options and alternatives 5

Boys Golf “Moderate Risk” Fall II Sports Varsity March 1‐ April 19 The Line‐Up “Low Risk” Varsity “Low Risk” Girls Tennis Varsity “Moderate Risk” Varsity Elements of Fall 2 Varsity Teams/Season Grade level of athletes/students Grades 9‐12 Number of coaches/team Two: 1 Head Coach & 1 Assistant Coach Maximum players who can 20 compete & travel for away competitions Athletes not yet varsity level will Practice and conditioning only be “Developmental” No LEAGUE, SECTIONAL or STATE culminating championship competitions for Fall II Season 6
2/12/2021 COVID 19 RELATED SAFETY What is Different? I. NYSPHSAA – Return to Interscholastic Athletics Revised 1/25/21 II. Onteora Central School District Athletics Safety Plan for COVID 19 III. Sports physicals I. Family ID Registration opened Monday 2/1/21 II. Medical Director clearance 7
2/12/2021 IV. Sport specific Guidelines I. Each sport has specific guidelines for COVID 19 II. Met with coaches increased guidelines and responsibilities III. Students need to know, implement, monitor and ensure compliance with the new guidelines and safety measures III. Shared responsibilities V. Transportation I. Limit of 21 on bus II. Parent transportation being discussed by Administration III. Remote and in‐person learners not in school will be allowed to participate in the athletic program IV. Students may not drive themselves to games V. Late busses will run VI. Practices I. Team practice locations TBD and communicated II. Practice times – 2:45 III. Protocols – COVID IV. Isolation Room V. After school Floaters VI. Remote Students VII. Bussing/transportation VII. Spectators I. NYSPHSAA – Allows 2/athlete II. Section IX – Currently prohibits any spectators III. Onteora will not allow spectators at games or practices IV. Streaming 8
2/12/2021 VIII. Athletes Responsibilities I. Personal items must be clearly labeled II. Everyone must have a good quality mask and wear at all times III. Everyone must be responsible and diligent in communication with Coaches, Nurses, Trainers, Athletic Directors, Building Administrators, parents, etc. IV. Must bring a labeled water bottle/container IX. Athletes Academic Responsibilities I. Grades II. Attendance III. If struggling, act now – Reach out ATHLETIC TRAINER & FACILITIES UPDATE 9
