Secondary & Elementary Chapels Every Tuesday Dr. Walker spoke to the secondary students Secondary Chapel on Matthew 7:12, "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets." He charged the students to choose a godlier way and to choose a sacrificial way. He spoke about how the devil loves to sow seeds of doubt, frustration, anger, and bitterness and that Jesus charges His followers to sow seeds of love, care, and honor. The attitude which says, 'I must do no harm to people,' is quite different from the attitude which says, 'I must do my best to help people.' Too often we view the Golden Rule in the way it was expressed by the ancient philosophers: don’t bother anyone else if you don’t want to be bothered. Jesus’ standard is much higher: pursue the highest good of others, just as you would want them to do for you. Elementary Chapel Elementary chapel students are currently in a series of lessons called Animal Safari. Each week, they learn a fact or two about a particular animal, then have a Bible story. This week, students heard about a rhino and his horn and how his horn was one of the things that gives him power and protection. They were then taught from a story about how God used a different kind of horn to bring down the walls of Jericho. The big idea is that God's power is available to all of us. He may not fight our battles the way we think He should, but He knows what's best for us and can win our victories for us.
