BULLETIN September 2, 2021, Meeting Presiding: President Robert started the meeting at 7:00am. President Robert was at the Graffiti USA Classic Car Museum along with a group of in-person Kiwanians on zoom. The meeting started with a robust ringing of the bell. An opening song was directed by Gary Goodman. The pledge allegiance to the flag was directed by Nico Flores and a prayer was delivered by Marty Villa. Guests: Selena VCPA Secretary visited via Zoom. Kevin Van Donselaar, Executive Director of Christian Berets was a guest of Marty Villa. Announcements: The Deinstallation of President Robert will FINALLY happen on September 17, 2021. Randy and Denise Cook have generously offered the “Man Cave/She Shed” as the venue. Signup sheet has been passed around. If you have been on Zoom and not able to get the sign-up sheet but would like to attend the de-installation, please contact Adrian Crane. Interclub is scheduled at Sonora October 15, 2021, 7:00 am. Peace Path-Marty Villa relayed a message from Tuolumne School. They have used the path so much it’s worn out and needs to be re-painted. Roger Suelzle’ s employer is looking for drivers to deliver pharmaceuticals. If interested, contact Roger. Steve Perry announced the Old Fisherman’s Club car show is September 25. Contact Steve if you are interested. Board Report. President Roberts last board meeting. The successful car show provided a boost to the current year budget and we were able to donate some extra money this year and still have a good budget for our incoming President Aaron for the coming year. New Member: Nico Flores was inducted today. Marine Sargent Flores is from Jacksonville, N.C. After high school he enlisted in the Marines and endured training at Parris Island and Camp Lejeune. He was stationed in Washington D.C. after deployment to Africa and Europe. He is interested in Explosive Ordinance Disposal. Nico is presently serving as a Recruiter. Nico was a tremendous asset during the NMK American Graffiti Festival. Welcome Nico! Happy/Sad Bucks: Brian Sanders was very thankful for the great work of firefighters. Adrian Crane was happy that his firefighter son, who used to be stationed at Columbia right near Brian’s fires last week, is now able to help out by being on a fire crew at the Monument fire near Redding. Bob Riedel was very happy about his wife Eileen’s new/used Lexus. President Robert noticed that Bob continued talking about a Hybrid Lexus, surgery, thumbs up and soon a $10 donation grew to $20 and beyond. Kevin Scott was very happy that the Society for Disabilities banquet went very well. He noted that Greater Turlock Kiwanis had a table, but NMK didn’t. NMK donated. Lori Rosman donated $5 for her trip to Idaho. The donation grew to $10 when she bragged about seeing Jewel in person while there. Ken Darby got a booster shot from the VA. Aaron Kellums gave up $10 because he will miss the next meeting. President Robert pointed out he would also miss CLE Training. Britta Skavdahl celebrated a birthday on August 27. Based upon statements made by people who are in the know but not authorized to speak, Britta is 29, again. Wedding Anniversaries: Jeremiah Williams 35 years Membership anniversaries. Jim Toal and Doug Van Den Enden were both inducted on September 1, 1997 DRAWING RESULTS-AKA Third time is the charm. Draw 1. Loren Suelzle claimed to win the marble draw but was unable to produce a ticket. Draw 2. Bob Riedel had the winning ticket but couldn’t come up with the red marble. Draw 3. Karen Bettencourt had the winning ticket and the lunch money. Anything else for the good of the order? If you can’t feed a hundred people, then just feed one.
