Through Agri-Food Value Chains African countries aim to increase their competitive
advantage through strategic partnerships among different stakeholders. In this

Working Group 3: Beyond the Farm: How to make agriculture a lucrative
                    business for the youth?

Young Entrepreneurs across Africa are recognizing untapped opportunities in the
agrifood sector. Together with young managers from Germany we want to discuss
how Africa can develop a supportive ecosystem for the young to succeed in
agribusiness. This session will discuss digitalization, the environment, market-led
ventures and how different actors can collaborate in order to support young
agripreneurs to make agriculture a sustainable and lucrative business.

04:15 – 05:15 pm 3 Parallel Working Groups

Working Group 4: European – African Agribusiness Cooperation
Launched in May 2018, the Task Force Rural Africa was set up to provide advice
on strengthening the Africa-Europe partnership in food and farming. According to
the group, Africa and the EU should develop a partnership operating at three levels:
                    people-to-people, business-to-business, and government-to-government. We aim
to discuss the implementation of concrete actions and how African and European
Businesses could get involved in order to intensify the cooperation between the two
                    continents.
