BUILDING A LEGACY: ON THE ROCK Building a Legacy on the Rock Facility Project Update This is an exciting time for St. Peter! Come celebrate the Capital Campaign success. There will be a Thank You Reception on Sunday, November 24 from 3pm to 5pm. Look elsewhere in the Bulletin or on Happenings for de- tails. As this has been a prayerful campaign, plan on stopping at the Church Sunday afternoon before the recep- tion for a special Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Please RSVP if you plan to attend the Reception. You may have noticed some activity beginning at the Church. Survey work, soil borings, elevation pictures have all started. The Architectural Team assigned to the project from Progressive AE has visited St. Peter twice, in- cluding a thorough walkthrough of the Church. Monsignor Osborn, the Vicar General for the Diocese, has also visited St. Peter. Monsignor is the lead for all the liturgical aspects of the Church for this project. Msgr. Osborn will be speaking here at St. Peter as part of our Ad- vent Program. He is very knowledgeable and an inspiring speaker. He will be talking on “Liturgy and a House of Prayer” on December 3 and 17, at 6:00pm. Mark your calendar to attend. Msgr. Osborn’s reflection will help us better understand how the ‘building stones’ of the Church must be expressive of the presence of God, suited to the sacrifice of Christ, as well as reflective of the Community. More information to follow. A Construction Committee of Parishioners has been formed. The members include: Mike Hagerty, Committee Chair Father Fabio Denzil Abney Alisha Giles Ralph Hensley Phil Huffman Tom Kehr Peter Keith Rick Parent Jim Peterson Andrea Smith Ernie Wasilevich The process for hiring a Construction Manager for the project is starting. We hope to have the CM on board early in the new year. This will coincide with many of these other activities coming together. It is only then, that we will have enough quality information to build a schedule to share with you, the Parish. We continue to ask for everyone’s patience and prayers. “Lord, the one You love is sick.” Jn 11:3 The St. Peter Prayer Line unites parishioners in a spirit of Sunday: 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Christian Charity to pray for the needs of our parish Mal 3:19-20a/Ps 98:5-6, 7-8, 9 [cf. 9]/2 Thes 3:7-12/Lk 21:5-19 especially: Ethan Csapos, Jackie Diaz, Reese Holmes, Monday: The Dedication of the Basilicas of Saúl Suárez Jr., Fr. Jesus told his disciples when he left the earth to Go and Make Disciples and teach what I have taught you. This is our “Why” of being a catholic in the world. It’s what we are about, and the work of the diocese supports this mis- sion in many ways. Hopefully you have prayed about your bless- ings and how you can return a small portion of your blessings to help Bishop Bradley fulfill the words of Jesus.
