Ring One – Lead Rein & Junior Classes Ring One - Ring to Commence at 9.00am CLASS NUMBER TITLE 01 Intro to Showing For Lead rein riders. The riders will only walk. 02 Lead Rein Best Turned Out Open to lead-rein ponies aged 4 years and over. Conformation of animal will not be taken into account. 03 Best Lead Rein Pony Open to lead rein ponies, Mare or Gelding. Riders must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January 2018. 04 Best Lead Rein Rider Open to lead-rein riders who have not attained their 12th birthday before 1st January 2018. Conformation of the animal will not be taken into account. Lead Rein Championship First and second placed competitors form classes 01-04 will go through to the Lead Rein Championship which will take place after class 04. 05 Junior Best Turned Out Open to junior riders on ponies aged 4 years and over. Conformation of the animal will not be taken into account. 06 Best Junior Rider Open to junior riders who are aged 16 years and under. Conformation of the animal will not be taken into account. First Ridden Pony 07 First ridden pony, mare or gelding not exceeding 14.2hh. Riders must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January 2018. To be shown in any suitable bridle. Assistance is permitted from within the ring, as long as a lead rein is not attached. Cantering is optional, however additional points will be awarded where canter is shown.z` Best Junior Handler 08 Open to ponies and horses of any age/height. All handlers must be 16 years old or below on January 1st 2018. Junior Championship First and second place in classes 05-08 will go through to the Junior Championship which will take place after class 08.
Ring Two – In Hand Classes Ring to Commence at 9.00am CLASS NUMBER TITLE In Hand Best Turned Out 09 Open to any Pony/Horse, of any age or height. Junior and senior handlers. In Hand Youngstock 10 Open to all breeds, aged 3 years and under (no foals) Mares, geldings and stallions. Senior handlers only. 11 Best Senior Handler Open to ponies and horses of any age/height. All handlers must be 17 years +. In Hand Mountain and Moorland 12 Open to registered and unregistered ponies and horses. Open to Stallions, Mares or Geldings. Horses/ponies 4 years and over. Open to Junior and Senior handlers. Class will be split into Large and Small breeds if numbers warrant. In Hand Coloured and Spotted 13 Open to all coloured horses and ponies including piebald, skewbald, appaloosa, roan, dun, palomino and spotted. Stallion, Mare or Gelding. Open to Junior and Senior handlers. 14 In Hand Cob Open to all in cobs, including show, traditional and maxi. Junior and senior handlers. 15 In Hand Hunter Open to all in hand hunter horses/ponies. Junior and senior handlers. In Hand Veteran 16 Open to all in hand horses/ponies, aged 15 years and above, class will be split if sufficient numbers (15-19 and 20+). Junior and senior handlers First and second place in each class 09-16 will go through to the In Hand Championship which will take place after class 16.
Ring One – Ridden Classes Ring to Commence not before 2.00pm CLASS NUMBER TITLE Novice Senior Rider 17 Open to all horses/ponies, mare or gelding aged 4 years and over. Riders aged 17 years +. Conformation of animal will not be taken into account. Riders will not be asked to canter as a ride. 18 Best Senior Rider Open to all horses/ponies, mare or gelding aged 4 years and over. Riders aged 17 years +. Conformation of animal will not be taken into account. 19 Riding Horse Including R.O.R Open to riding horses, Mares or Geldings, 4 years and over, over 14.2hh. Riders any age. R.O.R’s will be judged separately. 20 Ridden Cob Open to ridden cobs including show, maxi and traditional. Stallion, mare or Gelding, 4 years and over. Riders any age. 21 Ridden Foreign Breeds Open to all recognised pure/part bred foreign breeds. Stallions, mare or Gelding, 4 years and over. Riders any age. Ridden Mountain and Moorland 22 Open to registered and unregistered horses and ponies. Open to Stallions, Mares or Geldings. Horses/ponies 4 years and over. The class will be split into Large and Small Breeds if entries warrant it. 23 Ridden Coloured and Spotted Open to all coloured horses and ponies including piebald, skewbald, appaloosa, roan, dun, palomino and spotted. Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 years and over. Ridden Family Horse/Pony 24 To be ridden in a snaffle, no spurs. Class to be judged on suitability of horse to be ridden by multiple members of family. Conformation of animal will not be taken into account. 25 Ridden Hunter Open to Ridden Hunters aged four and over. 26 Ridden Veteran Open to horses and ponies over the age of 15 years. Riders of any age. First and second place in each class 17-26 will go through to the Ridden Championship which will take place after class 26.
Rules and Conditions of Entry 1. Ages are taken from 1st January 2018. Juniors are not to have attained their 16th birthday and lead rein riders not to have attained their 12th birthday. 2: No horse or pony to be ridden more than once in a class. 3: Height certificates and passports must be produced if required. 4: No refunds unless accompanied by a vets certificate. 5: Ridden horses and ponies must be 4 years and over. 6: Stallions/colts 2 years and above must be bitted and handler/rider must wear armband. 7: Stallion riders and handlers must have attained their 14th birthday (no stallions or colts permitted in the young handler class.) 8: Handlers who have not attained their 16th birthday must wear hard hat. 9. Liability for any damage or accident caused by dogs rests with the owners. No liability may be attributed to SRC. 10: Competitors should have own public liability insurance. All animals will be considered as being in the sole charge of the exhibitor/owner/handler and they will be deemed responsible for any damage, loss or injury owing to accident or any other cause. No liability may be attributed to SRC. 11. Saddles and bridles must be worn when ridden. If worn, spurs must be worn correctly fitted and whips must not exceed 30 inches in length. 12.All riders and competitors MUST wear a hard hat whilst mounted that meets one of the following criteria: PAS015 (1998 or 2011) & BSI kite mark, ASTMF1163 (2004a or 04a onwards) & SEI mark, VGI 01.040 (2014-12) & BSI kite mark, SNELL E2001 & official SNELL label and number or AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) & SAI global mark. Hats only to standard EN1384 or BSEN1384, are permitted but not recommended. Skull caps must be worn with silk.
13: Any objections must be in writing to the secretary and lodged within 30 minutes of any incident. 14: Any Judge’s decision is final and abuse of any judge will result in competitor being asked to leave the showground. 15: The organiser reserves the following rights – to cancel, amend or rearrange the order of events, to disqualify any animals which in their opinion are unfit to compete, to restrict or split entries in any class once an acceptable number of entries have been received. 16: The organiser reserves the following rights – to refuse entry without giving a reason or to send away from the show ground any persons who in their opinion is behaving in an unreasonable manner or not abiding with the rules. 17: Whilst the organiser would like competitors to compete in as wide a range of activities as possible it is stressed that it may not be possible to hold up a class whilst a competitor is engaged in another class nor due to class numbers is it possible to give accurate times a class may start or finish. Competitors are asked to consider whether it is feasible to enter classes which may clash. No refunds will be given. 18: Any times given are as a guide only. It is not possible to give precise times a class may start or finish. 19: No mucking out of lorries/trailers onto showground. 20: Photographs maybe taken at all SRC events by our attending photography company. It is taken that permission has been given by attendees/ parents/guardians for SRC to use such materials for publication/promotional purposes. 21: No liability will be accepted by SRC or anyone acting on their behalf for any loss damage accident or illness to horse, ponies, rider, spectators or other persons whatsoever. How to enter... Entries will be £9 per class when booked online in advance and £10 on the day
