THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION, IRISH FARMERS JOURNAL AND FBD INSURANCE PRESENT The FBD All-Ireland Young Young Stock Person 2021
Title: Are you Ireland’s best young stockperson? A new all-Ireland competition has been launched for young stock men and women with a prize fund of €5,000. https://www.farmersjournal.ie/are-you-ireland-s-best-young-stockperson-632267 COVID-19 PROTOCOLS 1. Competitions will be held behind closed doors. Exhibitors will be admitted to the venue 90 minutes before their competition time and must leave within 45 minutes after they have finished competing. 2. Two people will be admitted per animal excluding exhibitor. 3. Ensure that correct details are supplied for contact tracing purposes at time for entering. One contact person per vehicle. 4. Details will be checked against the entry list on arrival at the venue. If you are not on the list, you will not be admitted. 5. Anyone displaying symptoms of Covid-19 should not present at the venue. 6. Face coverings are mandatory while competing in the ring, during presentations, and in any other areas of the marts where social distancing cannot be maintained. 7. There will be no hand shaking during presentations. 8. Exhibitors may be required to complete a health self-declaration form and temperature or other health checks on arrival (depending on prevailing regulations at the time). 9. All officials will be required to complete an online contact tracing and health declaration form 48 hours prior to the event. 10. Every effort should be made to always maintain sufficient distance from other exhibitors. 11. Anybody breaching any of the safety regulations may be removed from the venue and forfeit their place in the competition. 12. While hand sanitiser will be provided throughout the marts, exhibitors are advised to bring their own hand sanitiser for their use. 13. One-way systems will be in operation. Please follow signs, announcements, and directions from officials. 2
FBD ALL-IRELAND YOUNG STOCKPERSON CHAMPIONSHIP If entering on behalf of a third party, e.g. a child, you must create an exhibitor profile for them on your account (select "add new contact" in the exhibitor field). Handler's Date of Birth is a requirement for entering these classes. This information is solely for use by the Irish Shows Association CLG to determine eligibility for that competition. 3
QUALIFIER A - ROSCREA (SUNDAY 1ST AUGUST) Location: Roscrea Mart Class A1: Junior Young Stockperson: 8-12 years old THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION/IRISH FARMERS JOURNAL/FBD INSURANCE PRESENT THE FBD ALL IRELAND YOUNG STOCKPERSON CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 JUNIOR SECTION QUALIFIER: 8-12 YEARS OLD RULES AND CONDITIONS 1. As Part of the registration process, competitors will be asked to upload a head shot, age, address, and information about the animal they are showing. By uploading a photograph, you are consenting to having this image and information published in the Irish Farmers Journal and/or on the Irish Shows Association website should you qualify for the final. 2. Animals can be of any Beef breed, male, or female (pedigree or non-pedigree beef) and must be leading. 3. The Competition is open to girls and boys, age on the 1st August will determine the class each exhibitor enters. 4. Junior and Intermediate exhibitors will exhibit an animal male or female calf born between 1st December 2020 and 30th April 2021. Senior exhibitors can exhibit any beef animal born after 1st January 2020. 5. Calf identity cards to be available for inspection on show day accompanied by a movement permit. 6. Exhibitors may be asked for proof of age at the qualifier. 7. The top five exhibitors per class will qualify for the final from each qualifying show. 8. An adult may aid an exhibitor in the junior class if deemed necessary. 9. Entries for all sections will close on Monday 26th July @ 8pm.
