Title One and JHS SCIP 2020-21 2020-21 School Continuous Improvement Plan Attendance Focus Continued integration of culturally relevant instructional practices Coordination and increase in writing in English and across curriculum Differentiation and tutorial supports in Math Title One provides federal money for staffing to support improvements n reading/writing and math, parent/family outreach, and instructional reform to better meet student needs. JHS IS BACK IN ACTION APRIL 14 In-person learning for all students who choose it starts April 14 In-person students in school for 4.5 hours M-Th from 10:30-3:00 Two hours of school work to be completed at home Fridays remain distance learning days for all. May include office hours, check-ins, and assessments with teachers, in addition to independent work time 6 6

IN-PERSON STUDENTS:TRANSPORTATION JHS/METRO TRANSIT BUS CARDS AND IDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP THE WEEK BEFORE SPRING BREAK VALID SEVEN DAYS A WEEK FROM 5:00 AM TO 10:0 PM FOR ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR AS LONG AS YOU REMAIN ENROLLED AT JHS AND FOLLOW ALL METRO TRANSIT RIDERSHIP RULES METRO TRANSIT HAS STRICT COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS IN PLACE AN ALL BUSES—FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED 14 14

RULES FOR SUCCESS IN-PERSON STUDENTS WHO REFUSE TO FOLLOW COVID SAFTEY RULES AND THE REGULAR JHS RULES FOR SUCCESS WILL BE ASSIGNED TO DISTANCE LEARNING FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. WE EXPECT ALL STUDENTS TO DEMONSTRATE PRO- SOCIAL AND ACADEMICALLY-ENGAGED BEHAVIOR WHETHER THEY ARE VIRTUAL OR IN-PERSON 16 16
Johnson High School Governors No Excuse Rules for Success “Nothing will work unless you do.” 1) Cell phones and all other personal electronics—including ear buds--are turned off and put away during class time in all classrooms. (Our digital earning tool is the school-assigned iPad.) 2) All clothing and headwear is school appropriate. Pants are up; midriffs are covered. 3) Heads up in classrooms! 4) Use polite adult language in halls and classrooms. 5) No one smokes or vapes on school grounds or within sight of school grounds. 6) Get to class on time and maintain good attendance. 7) Follow staff, teacher, and Govie Leader directions. COVID-19 REPORTING IF YOUR STUDENT IS SICK OR HAS HAD CLOSE CONTACT WITH SOMEONE WHO TESTED POSTIVE FOR COVI D-19, DO NOT SEND THEM TO SCHOOL. SUBMT A REPORT TO THE COVID-19 REPORTING SYSTEM (ON DISTRICT WEBSITE) THE SAME DAY FOR NEXT STEPS. STUDENTS WHO BECOME SICK DURING THE SCHOOL DAY WILL BE ISOLATED (UNDER SUPERVISION) UNTIL THEY CAN BE PICKED UP. PROMPT PICKUP IS ESSENTIAL. WHEN THERE IS A CASE AT SCHOL, THE COVID-19 COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOL WILL BE FOLLOWED TO DETERMINE NECESSARY NOTIFICATIONS. AVAILABLE ON DISTRICT WEBSITE. STUDENTS WHO ARE QUARANTINED WILL RESUME DISTANCE LEARNING UNTIL THEY ARE CLEARED TO RETURN. 18 18
