Waitangi Day—Kiwi Birds As today is Waitangi Day (the National day of New Zealand, the zebras deco- rated their own Kiwi bird using lots of different materials. They used feathers, crepe paper and some cut outs. William got lots of glue on his hand and started waving them “ITS STUCK MISS AN- DREA”. The children loved using the feathers. Sezal was tickling Miss Andrea with the feather and had a big giggle. We are so happy to have Joey as part of our Zebra room. Following on from yesterday, we sang some new songs to- day. We sand Row Row Row your boat, doing actions like we were rowing our own boats. Sarah and Joseph rowed their boat holding hands. The Zebras had lots of fun. We also sang a song called “open shut them”, where the children used their fine and gross motor skills to do the move- ments. - Miss Andrea LO 2.1 — Children develop a sense of belonging in groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participations

Rainbow Pancakes The extend on colours with the Zebras yesterday afternoon the Zebras made rainbow pancakes with Ms Caitlyn for afternoon tea! The Zebras had to shake the pancake mix before we could add the food colouring. Ms Caitlyn put the mix into 3 separate bowls and added a different colour to each bowl and she let the zebras pick what colours, they chose red, blue and yellow. When the food colouring was added Ms Caitlyn got the Zebras to mix the food colour into the mix. Once the food colouring was all mixed in Ms Caitlyn then took the 3 mixtures to the kitchen to cook the children's pancakes ready for afternoon tea. When the pancakes were done the children were so excit- ed and couldn't wait to eat them. The Zebras got to pick what colour pancake they wanted to eat and the Zebras loved them so much that they ate them all up with no share pancakes left!
