Unnamed Ajax PS – Overview
Unnamed Ajax PS is scheduled to open September 2018.
The school, currently under construction, is located at the
south-west corner of Turnerbury Avenue and Formosa
Avenue, in Ajax.
The municipal address is 39 Formosa Avenue, Ajax.
The school site is 6.99 acres/2.83 hectares.
Students proposed to attend Unnamed Ajax PS currently
attend two area schools:
Dr. Roberta Bondar PS
Roland Michener PSUnnamed Ajax PS – Overview
The school will have a Ministry Rated Capacity of 663 pupil
places.
The school is being constructed with 30 classrooms and will
include:
Specialty classrooms such as environmental, art, music,
(8) Kindergarten and (2) Special Education.
Gymnasium and learning commons (library).
A 4-room child care (infant, toddler and two preschool
rooms).

The school is located at 25 Sullivan Drive, Ajax.
The school site is 5.09 acres/2.06 hectares.
Dr. Roberta Bondar PS has been a holding school for
Lexington County and Mulberry Meadows since September

The school site is 5.00 acres/2.02 hectares.
Roland Michener PS has been a holding school for Lexington
County and Mulberry Meadows since September 2005.
As of September 2015, only siblings of students already
attending Roland Michener PS, or other family members

schools (Dr. Roberta Bondar PS and Roland Michener PS).
New school facilities attract students from other sources
(other publicly funded and private schools).
60 students (from other sources) have been included in
the enrolment projections for Unnamed Ajax PS, every

When new schools open there is an option for the Grade
8 students (within the boundary) to remain at their
current school, or to attend their new school for their
graduating year.
The trend, over the past few years, has been for students
to attend their new school for their graduating year.
Therefore, current Grade 7’s (2018/19 Grade 8’s) are
included in Unnamed Ajax PS enrolment for September
2018.
Students will be given the option, through a survey, after
boundaries have been approved.Transition and Communication

Boundary Process/FAQ
What is the process for boundaries/program moves?
Board Regulation #3313: School Boundaries is followed to create
new boundaries and adjust existing boundaries or move a
program (i.e. French Immersion).
When will a decision be made?
A decision is scheduled to be made at the January 22, 2018 Board
Meeting.
Who makes the final decision?
The Board of Trustees makes the final decision, after
consideration of a staff report that will review data, input from
the community and provide a recommendation.Opportunities for Input

With the opening of the Unnamed Ajax PS, for September
2018, there will be space in Dr. Roberta Bondar PS and Roland
Michener PS to accommodate Early Years programs.
Capital funding has been requested from the Ministry of
Education to fund the following:
