Mobile Mesa County Clifton Connectivity Great things are happening in Clifton! Mesa County will soon break ground on a sidewalk project on D 1/4 Road, which will help to improve connectivity between 32 Road and 32 1/2 Road. This addition of sidewalk will create a safer route for students traveling to Rocky Mountain Elementary. Residents living in Candlewood Park and nearby neighborhoods will also have improved accessibility to the Clifton Nature Park and Colorado Riverfront Trail. This past year, June of 2020, Mesa County was awarded a grant through the Multimodal Options Fund through the Colorado Department of Transportation. The project will provide an 8-foot wide sidewalk on the south side of D ¼ Road between 32 Road and 32 ½ Road along with an ADA ramp and pedestrian signal improvements at the intersection of D ½ Road and 32 ½ Road adjacent to Rocky Mountain Elementary School. Mesa County is expected to break ground early July for this project, with anticipated project completion around the third week of September, 2021. Follow us on Social Media Mobile Mesa County

Community Spotlight Grand Junction Regional Airport Congratulations are in order for one of our community partners, Grand Junction Regional Airport, who recently received the honor of Colorado Airport of the Year by CDOT. Grand Junction Regional Airport is the largest on the Western Slope and the third largest airport in Colorado. This spring the announced the addition of three new airlines that will be offering flights in and out of Grand Junction, which increased the number of daily flights. In the past few years, flying out of Grand Junction has become more comparable to some of the larger hubs, such as Denver and Salt Lake. Next time you plan to travel, skip the hassle of driving in traffic, fly out of your hometown in Grand Junction, it is far more convenient. Travelers can also take GVT to the airport, there is a stop right outside the terminal.
