THANK YOU, FR. PEROZICH! – This weekend we bid farewell to Fr. Richard Perozich who has been helping out since early August. He now moves to another parish in the Archdiocese, St. Anthony in Gardena, to help out there for a few weeks prior to his return home to Florida. Thank you, Father! CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR – This past week we began the Jubilee Year of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles commemorating the 250th anniversary of Mission San Gabriel Archangel. Part of that celebration was a beautiful Vespers Service at the Mission. Our own Music Director, Mr. Steven Ottomanyi, was entrusted by the Archdiocese to do the music for this celebration. The music chosen was that of the California Missions which is Steven's specialty. We plan on bringing that beautiful music and heritage to our parish in the coming months. THE GREAT TREASURE OF OUR PARISH SCHOOL – I am very pleased to see our children back in school once again and seeing our enrollment rise from last year. As I told you when I first came to St. Andrew as Pastor in 2019, the school is one of my top priorities. It is vital for us to provide the best quality Catholic education possible for the children of Pasadena. This weekend, our Principal, Mr. Jae Kim, will be speaking at all Masses regarding the opportunities available at our school. This past week the children all went to Confession in preparation for the Mass of the Holy Spirit which was celebrated on Thursday. We're off to a great start in this new academic year! INTERESTED IN BECOMING CATHOLIC? – The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the program designed for converts to the Catholic Faith. If you know of someone who is interested in becoming Catholic but doesn’t know what to do, please encourage them to join our new RCIA class which will begin in October. Ahora se muda a otra parroquia de la Arquidiócesis, San Antonio en Gardena, para ayudar allí durante unas semanas antes de regresar a su hogar en Florida. ¡Gracias Padre! FELICITACIONES A NUESTRO DIRECTOR DE MÚSICA – La semana pasada comenzamos el Año Jubilar de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles en conmemoración del 250 aniversario de la Misión San Gabriel Arcángel. Parte de esa celebración fue un hermoso Servicio de Vísperas en la Misión. La Arquidiócesis le encomendó a nuestro propio Director Musical, el Sr. Steven Ottomanyi, que hiciera la música para esta celebración. La música elegida fue la de las Misiones de California, que es la especialidad de Steven. Planeamos traer esa hermosa música y herencia a nuestra parroquia en los próximos meses. EL GRAN TESORO DE NUESTRA ESCUELA PARROQUIAL – Estoy muy contento de ver a nuestros niños regresar a la escuela una vez más y ver que nuestra inscripción aumenta con respecto al año pasado. Como les dije cuando vine por primera vez a San Andrés como Párroco en 2019, la escuela es una de mis principales prioridades.
