ded our trust in government, the coming to terms with racism amongst us (and there is racism in every culture), the violence that has torn apart our cities, the lack of trust and mutual re- spect among people that causes widespread fear, and even the divisions with the Church itself all make up the storm that threatens to swamp the boat and drown us all. However, we must have faith that Christ is with us. He comes to us doing the humanly impossible – walking on water – and bids us come to Him. He calls us to seek Him in the peace and quiet of our hearts and accept Him as He makes Himself known, not as we think He ought to be known. He comes to us in Word and Sac- rament in the life of the parish community which is where we find fellowship and mutual, prayerful support. God doesn’t play Hide and Seek with us. We don’t have to look far to find Him. He’s right here, in plain sight.
