CHILDREN’S MINISTRY Come to the Table: Communion Class 2-session class for children 3rd grade and up begins March 1 A ll baptized Christians are welcome to receive Communion in the Episco- pal Church, regardless of age. But many parents prefer to wait until their children have some understanding of what Communion means. Towards that end, we’re offering “Come to the Table,” a two-part class for chil- dren in third grade and up at 9:00 Sunday, March 1 and TBD by participants’ parents in the Rector’s office. We’ll take about who Jesus is, why he wants us to celebrate the Eucharist, and we’ll talk about the “nuts and bolts”—what words like “Eucharist” and “chalice” mean, how we receive the bread, why we kneel, and more. For each child, at least one parent must also attend the class. Call the church or email hilary@stalbanswaco.org to register for the class. Easter News: More eggs needed!! MUSIC MINISTRY NEWCOMERS MINISTRY GETTING TO KNOW: Delayne Vaughn D elayne Vaughn grew up in northeast Texas be- tween the small towns of Sulphur Springs and Paris. He graduated from North Hopkins High School before moving to College Station to attend Texas A&M University. After completing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, he moved to Waco to at- tend George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Bay- lor. He received a Master of Divinity in Theology from the seminary and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (Old Testament) from the religion department at Baylor. Approximately a year after completing his seminary degree in 2004, he moved from the Baptist church to St. Alban’s. Before singing in the choir at St. Alban’s, Delayne was a member of the Century Singers—a mixed-voice concert choir at A&M—and the Waco Symphony Chorus, along with various church choirs in Sulphur Springs, Bryan, and Waco. One reason he was drawn to St. Alban’s was the opportunity to participate in liturgical worship. He has sung in the choir since he CHORISTERS SING IN HOUSTON began attending St. Alban’s.
