Community Services In This Issue... Staff Spotlight Upcoming Special Events I can say with absolute confidence D-Day Concert 4 and certainty, that Temecula is a Temecula Art & Street Painting Festival 4 special community. I have known Art Off the Walls 4 this personally, since a young age. Summer Solstice 4 As someone who has lived here Ralph Love Plein Air Competition 4 since age 2, I have grown to love Symphony Series 4 and appreciate Temecula for all that it is and it has to offer. While Summer Sunset Concert Series 5 earning my Bachelor of Arts degree Moonlight Movies in the Park 5 in Psychology at California Baptist 4th of July Extravaganza 6 University, I began my career with Mother/Son Date Night at the Diamond 6 the City of Temecula seasonally as a Build Your Own Boat Regatta 6 Summer Day Camp Counselor. After September 11th Remembrance 7 graduating from college, I earned Temecula F.I.T. Color Run 7 Leah Juarez Health & Community Resource Fair 7 Community Services Assistant a promotion to Senior Recreation Leader at the Temecula Skate Park Halloween Home Decorating Contest 7 and began working toward my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. Halloween Bike Tour 7 Upon finishing my master’s program, I was at a crossroads: pursue a career in Halloween Carnival 7 counseling, or continue working in recreation. At that point, I made the decision to continue in recreation, and it was the right decision! I haven’t left recreation Specialized Programs since, and have worn many different hats related to recreation. Currently I help Aquatics Programs & Swim Lessons 46-49 oversee operations at the Community Recreation Center (CRC), Temecula Around & About Temecula 58 Skate Park, the CRC Summer Day Camp program, as well as special projects Measure S Improvements 54 on safety and emergency preparedness at several City facilities. At the end of Photo Contest/Parks & Recreation Month 60 each day, I take a minute to reflect on what a privilege it is to live, work, and Responsible Compassion 55 play in such a wonderful city.
