VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES @ HPL Hamilton Public Library is currently recruiting for several volunteer positions. More information and applications can be found at hpl.ca/volunteer-opportunities Summer Reading Buddies Visiting Library Service Volunteers Teens! This is a great way to earn volunteer hours Deliver the joy of reading to someone who is not able to during the summer and make reading fun for kids who get to the library on their own. Adults with their own need a little extra help. READING BUDDIES Reading Buddies is a literacy program for children to practice their reading skills. The program runs from Tuesday July 3 through Saturday August 25 (except Monday August 6). Who can join? For children who have completed Grade 1, up to age 12. How does the program work? Children are paired with a volunteer Reading Buddy for individual attention and help with reading. The program is not designed to teach children how to read. Children explore reading with a volunteer and reinforce literacy development through games and activities.
