Greetings arts community, This fall, join us for more of the art classes you know and love, plus new opportunities like Art Collecting and Intermediate Chinese Brush Painting. Our big new feature is a series of classes aimed at getting your work out there: Writing an Artist Statement, Getting Your Artwork Exhibited, and Photographing Artwork. I’m excited to unleash more of our talented students on the art world! While it appears that the pandemic is winding down in our area, we still have to be cautious. Now is a time to test the waters, not jump in with both feet! To that end, Community Arts (and Montgomery College as a whole) is offering a small selection of on-campus classes this fall, while keeping most classes remote. Check out page16 for a list of on-campus classes. My heartfelt thanks goes out to those who have built an online community through the pandemic. I’m eager to take the first steps back to an in-person community, and I’m sure you are too. Looking to the future, our-long term goal is to continue offering a robust set of online classes while also retaining the full schedule of on-campus classes that we’re known for. The pandemic has taught us a lot, and one thing is that some people prefer online classes! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at communityarts@montgomerycollege.edu or 240-676-1567. Thank you, John Deamond Community Arts Program Director CONTACT Artist: Michael Steiner Title: Three Onions Website: montgomerycollege.edu/communityarts Michael Steiner is a practicing architect in the Washington, DC Email: communityarts@montgomerycollege.edu metropolitan area. Co-listed classes usually have a small number of seats (2-5), so sign up before it’s too late! AGE LIMIT: All classes are for students age 16 and older.
