THE CAMBRIDGE CLASSIC CAR RUN We are again privileged to have the use of The Imperial War Museum at Duxford as our base for the 10th running of the of the Cambridge Car Club’s Classic run. We will start and finish at Duxford where we will be given a parking area within the actual museum with free access to all public areas, and where there will be a club presence all day. The event will be held on 19 April 2020. On leaving the start, participants will follow a scenic circular route of approximately 80 miles on quiet roads through Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties. A shorter route will be available for anyone wishing to do less miles and return to the museum earlier. As last year there will be a coffee stop at Carver Barracks airfield where our friends from WSMC will be holding an AutoSolo event. However, as an additional attraction to make it more interesting for you this year, we plan to set up a sample AutoSolo test which you can attempt in your own car. This is completely optional and without official timing. You will be able go round the test at your own pace. It should be great fun. You will also be able to see other competitors doing the actual timed sections on the AutoSolo proper which will be running on other parts of the airfield. After completing the tour, participants will have full access to the museum on their return to Duxford. The route will be defined by tulip diagrams printed in the road book. Help will be on hand to assist any participant who is new to this type of navigation. Whist most of the vehicles taking part are classic touring or sporting cars, we are happy to consider other cars that might be considered of special interest. The entry fee is £63.00 per car with two occupants. An additional fee of £22 will be charged for each additional passenger to cover the cost of entry to the venues. A road book, numbered rally plate and any other documentation will be handed to participants at signing on. 2020 is the 70th anniversary of the formation of Cambridge Car Club and therefore your organising club is older than many vehicles that may enter. We hope you will support us in this fine anniversary as we go forward, we hope, for many more years as an enthusiastic motorsport car club. 2020 is also the 70th anniversary of the cessation of petrol coupons and we aim have a theme around this too. From the surplus funds arising from the event, we expect to be able to make a generous donation to St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds. 1. SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS 2.
