The Family Centre is a fundamental and long standing resource providing a hub for families to seek advice and support. There are many activities for children and their parents such as art & craft, story sessions, out door play and a chance for parents to relax and chat with staff and gain valuable parenting skills. It is available for children up to the age of 5, accompanied by their parent and carer (includes siblings up to the age of 11 years old during school holidays). The centre works closely with other agencies such as Health Visitors and Speech and Language Therapists in their drop in sessions. It also provides parenting courses, work shops, contact sessions, and outings. The Family Centre, funded by Ceredigion Social Services, is not on Yr Eos Integrated Childrens Campus’ main site; however it is nearby on Heol Tyn Y Fron in Penparcau, therefore it is in the heart of the Penparcau area and is easily accessible by local families. Llwyn yr Eos is a community primary school for children aged 3—11. The school delivers a wide curriculum and has particular strengths in working with pupils with a variety of additional educational needs. The Foundation Phase at the school is a new approach to learning for children from 3-7 years of age. It encourages children to learn by doing. Young children will be given more opportunities to gain first hand experiences through play and active involvement rather than by completing exercises in books. They will be given time to develop their speaking and listening skills and to become confident in their reading and writing abilities. 4 to 7 year old children attend the school from 9am to 3.15pm; 7 to 11 year old children finish at 3.30pm. Younger children may attend from 9am to 12pm. Breakfast Club A healthy breakfast is provided at the school every school day between 8.30am and 8.55am. This is a Welsh Assembly initiative and there is no cost. Contact Brian Evans 01970 617011
