FATHER MARK’S NOTES
                                   Feast of Pentecost
The all-important Feast of Pentecost is next weekend. Next to Easter and
Christmas, this is the most important Feast of the year for us. Here is a quote
from the Catechism to help you prepare to celebrate our life in Christ.
1076 The Church was made manifest to the world on the day of Pentecost by the outpouring of
the Holy Spirit.1 The gift of the Spirit ushers in a new era in the "dispensation of the mystery"
the age of the Church, during which Christ manifests, makes present, and communicates
his work of salvation through the liturgy of his Church, "until he comes."2 (This teaching is at
the heart of our message series!!) In this age of the Church Christ now lives and acts in and
with his Church, in a new way appropriate to this new age. He acts through the sacraments
in what the common Tradition of the East and the West calls "the sacramental economy"; this
is the communication of the fruits of Christ's Paschal mystery in the celebration of the Church's
"sacramental" liturgy.

Each Sunday, as we celebrate Mass together, close your eyes during the
Liturgy of the Word, and through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit listen to
the voice of Jesus.

                         “Children’s Liturgy of the Word”
Parents and kids, great news. We will be starting up the Children’s Liturgy
of the Word on May 23 and continue thru summer!! We think it’s safe now to
begin again. That means all students currently in kindergarten and all stu-
dents currently in 1st and 2nd grades are welcome to continue. Parents, I think
the kids like it, and I like it too. So, we will be continuing to offer the program
the same as always this summer. So, any child currently in kindergarten up
to 2nd grade is welcome to participle in Children’s Liturgy of the Word during
the Sunday 8:30 am and 11:00 am Masses. For safety, we are limiting the
group to 10 students and asking that parents register their children on our
website.

Online giving is your consistent gift to OMOS
which helps us grow our ministries!
