COME STAY WITH US ELMHAM HOUSE - MAJOR REFURBISHMENT COMPLETED Our 115 bed pilgrim hostel, Elmham House, has undergone a major redevelopment over the winter break and massively enhances the resident pilgrim experience. Works undertaken include the opening up of the ground floor into an open plan dining room, lounge area and bar, upgrading a number of standard rooms to ensuite rooms, the renovation of the Library and Lounge Room, the introduction of a breakfast bar, increasing the number of wheelchair accessible rooms, a new lift, a new kitchen, the creation of a self-contained 35 bed youth hostel and the upgrade of heating systems to reduce its carbon footprint. These works are being funded in part by pilgrim donations, a major grant from the Bishops’ Conference, along with grants from other foundations and benefactors. Further funding is being sought and any assistance to support these works and other development works at the Shrine would be much appreciated. Visit www.walsingham.org.uk/donate for further details. To make a booking, call 01328 820 217 or email elmhamhouse@walsingham.org.uk during office hours (Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm). DOWRY HOUSE This historic medieval building at the heart of Little Walsingham in ‘England’s Nazareth’, welcomes pilgrims looking for a time of retreat, formation, silence and prayer. The Community of Our Lady of Walsingham provides hospitality, spiritual accompaniment, sung divine office and teaching on the spirituality of Walsingham. Eucharistic adoration is offered in the main chapel. The grounds and cloister provide outdoor prayer space. Retreats and seminars organised by the Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady run throughout the year. Residential visitors are welcome to come on their own or as part of a group. Day groups are also welcome. The retreat continues the legacy left by Sue Ryder and is directly opposite the main gate of the Abbey Grounds, where the Holy House of Walsingham originally stood. For further details visit www.dowryhouse.org.uk, email dowryhouse@walsingham.org.uk or call 01328 801 018.
