A Message from Fr. Jim . . . Today we salute all Mothers and give thanks for the countless things they’ve done and continue to do! How ap- propriate that our nation sets aside a day each year to honor all those women who serve God as a mother, grand- mother, step-mother or godmother. The following poem seems very appropriate for us to reflect on today: Tired Fingers Tired fingers so worn so white, Sewing and mending from morn ‘til night. Tired hands and eyes that blink, Drooping head too tired to think. Tired arms that once had pressed A curly head to a mother’s breast. Tired voice so soft, so dear Saying, “Sleep well, darling, mother is near.” Tired fingers so worn, so true, Sewing and mending the whole day through, From break of dawn ‘til setting sun, A Mother’s Work is Never Done. May God continue to bless and look lovingly on all mothers, both living and deceased, and may they know of our love and appreciation for them! Prayer Gardens' Social! It's been a looong winter! Let's celebrate the coming of warm weather and gather in the Prayer Gardens. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 2, after the 5:15 mass. Relax in the Gardens' peaceful atmosphere, abundant with reminders of the Catholic faith. Lemonade and light refreshments will be served. M I N I S T E R I O H I S PA N O Meditación sobre la Ascensión del Señor: El cielo es tuyo ¿Subes o te quedas?
