This will enable us to carry through on our planned capital improvements over the next three years and also take on some additional identified but not yet scheduled improvements to our parish physical plant. In recent years July 25 (the eve of Saints Ann and Joachim) has marked: 1) the World Day of Prayer for Grandparents; and 2) the start of National Family Planning Week. ST. KATERI TEKAKWITHA – Left with impaired vision as a result of smallpox at age 4, Kateri was given the name Tekakwitha meaning “she who bumps into things” or “the one who walks groping her way”. May our celebration of her feast this Wednesday (July 14) help improve our insight and help us to name roadblocks to the practice of true religion as together we grope our way toward God. May our celebration of Saint Kateri (help us to “tell all the truth”) as we recall, celebrate and shape the ongoing story of America. UPCOMING EVENTS SPECIAL COLLECTION – Every summer each parish in our Archdiocese is blessed to participate in the annual Mission Cooperative Appeal and next weekend we will welcome Sister Theresa Ho Nguyen to our parish. Sister will share with us the work of her Missionary Group - Lovers of the Holy Cross Congregation, Hung Hoa, Vietnam. Envelopes for this collection have been mailed to the homes of our members. Please be sure to write "Mission Co-op Appeal" in the memo line of your donation. Page 3 St. Ann (026)
