A special message from the
President …
Greetings to our Adventist members and friends!
My heartfelt prayer is that 2022 will be a year where the people of God
flourish, and the work of the Lord progresses mightily!
We certainly find ourselves living in unprecedented times! New buzz-words fill our vocabularies as we strive to find our feet in the
‘new normal’ which at times seems anything but normal!
The Covid pandemic has affected the church in many unexpected ways.
• We have new opportunities to digitally share the gospel, and be connected to God’s people all over the world.
• Tithe and offering income has been negatively affected in the SAU territory, possibly by the loss of jobs and reduced
church attendance.
• There’s a new awareness that the world has changed irreversibly, and that the future may become more challenging.
Some people are turning to the Bible for spiritual guidance.
In times like these, we need to seek God like never before. “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your
heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13). No matter what the future holds, our only safety is in walking closely with our Precious Saviour.
Here are my three wishes for you this year.
• That we will strengthen our relationship with Jesus through unceasing prayer, daily Bible study, and regular Church
attendance.
• That we will keep our eye on the unfolding of final events, realising that time is short and that the coming of Jesus is now
nearer than ever before.
• That we will ask God to give us opportunities to reach others for Jesus, so that when we are welcomed into heaven, there
will also be many friends, who through our influence, will be able to share in the joy of eternity.
May God bless His Church and His people, and may we do everything possible to hasten His coming (2 Peter 3:12).

FIFTH REGULAR BUSINESS SESSION
NOTICE is hereby officially given in terms of the Constitution of the Cape Conference of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church that the fifth Regular Business Session of the Conference is called to convene at the Western
Cape Sport School, 1170 Nooiensfontein Road, Kuils River, Cape Town from 18 to 21 March 2022 to
transact the following business:
1. Elect Executive Officers, Departmental Directors and an Executive Committee for the sixth triennium;
2 Receive reports of the activities and finances of the Conference during the fifth triennium;
3 Transact such other business as may properly come before the Session.
The first meeting will commence on Friday, 18 March 2022 at 19:00. All duly accredited delegates are urged
to be present at that time. The Session will adjourn only after official closure.

Adventist Church that the eighth Regular Business Session of the Conference is called to convene at the
Maluti Adventist Hospital, Mapoteng, Berea, Lesotho from 12 to 13 March 2022 to:
1. Elect Executive Officers, Departmental Directors and an Executive Committee for the eighth term;
2 Receive reports of the activities and finances of the Conference during the seventh term;
3 Transact such other business as may properly come before the Session.
The first meeting will be held after Sabbath hours on Saturday, 12 March 2022 at 18:00. The Session will
adjourn only after official closure.
