We promote physical health and unity among women. We give back to the community in various occasions and perform at events and competitions throughout the year. We conduct ourselves well in public and hold our team name high. About LOE The Ladies of Elegance (L.O.E) was founded at the campus of Temple University in 2001 by Jenaya Smith. L.O.E is an all female, non-greek step team. L.O.E performs on and off campus and competes two to three times a year for grand prizes. Our founder, Jenaya, founded this amazing organization in hopes that females with all different backgrounds can come together doing something that they love. When Jenaya came to attend Temple University, she wanted a sisterhood and a bond with other females and she did not know how to do it. Greek life wasn’t something she felt she wanted to be a part of and she knew there were many girls out there that might have felt the same way. Three years after founding L.O.E, teammate and Step Coordinator Brandi Baldwin created an annual step competition called “Step Or Die”. Step Or Die is a step competition hosted by the Ladies of Elegance. Teams from many different areas on the east coast compete at our school for a grand prize of $500. Step Or Die has been active every single year and L.O.E has just completed our 13th annual Step Or Die. Jenaya succeeded very well with her hopes and visions. Jenaya, Brandi and many other alumni still visit the team till this day to help out and assist. The Ladies of Elegance strives to continue this legacy and sisterhood. Confidentiality Policy 1. Behavior We are The Ladies Of Elegance and to be apart of such a well-known student organization, we must live up to the name we wear on our backs. It is our job as young ladies to conduct ourselves appropriately and resolve any issues among the team in a mature and appropriate manner. The President, Vice President and other E-Board members will be used as mediators for any issues among our team. Outside issues remain outside of our team and left at the door when at practice/events. Remember: Your actions are a reflection of yourself and the team as a whole! Dues Every member MUST pay dues, which are $40 per semester. The dues go into everything our organization will take part in during the semester, such as events and/or costumes. If dues are not paid, you will not be able to participate in performances until they are paid. If for some reason it may be a little difficult to pay, you are able to form some sort of payment plan with the treasurer. Dues are due within the first two weeks of practice. 1ST SEMESTER DUES ARE DUE SEPTEMBER 28, 2017. Gear that may or may not be provided besides the LOE shirt do not come from semester dues.
