HstAPPY 1 BIRTHDAY TO ME! Ok. Obviously, it’s not MY birthday! The Christina Talks podcast launched on the 31st August 2020 – it’s just turned one and I can not believe how quickly that year has gone! In the last 12 months we have seen the term Social Audio appear with the likes of Clubhouse and Green Room appearing (and the rest!). This has seen a swell in the number of new audio experiences hitting the waves and something that is set to be a trend in 2022. If you are offering something niche, or serving a niche audience, then podcasting is certainly something to consider including in your marketing plans. Don’t leave it too late though. Podcasting is a commitment, it requires some work to get up and running and determination to keep it going! Reasons for starting a podcast Thought leadership – Become the go to source of information Personal Brand – Become known for your specialism Perception – It’s uncanny, but Podcasting definitely raises your profile Gaining Access – Want to get past a gate keeper? Offering someone the opportunity to be your guest definitely helps! Giving Access – Podcasts are one of the best ways to reach the masses and allow people to get to know you better.
I’ve used Christina talks to achieve everything on that list. It’s helped me build trust with my prospects. Give value while communicating my values on a consistent basis. I’ve positioned myself as more than simply someone who knows their stuff marketing wise, and most importantly, as we’ve all made our way through what has been a crazy 2020/2021 I’ve been able to use the podcast to nurture and retain an audience that has brought revenue in to the business. If you want to start a podcast, here’s your route to launch: 1. What’s the concept? 2. Who’s it for? 3. Figure out the format (solo episodes, interviews or panels?) 4. Get your list of 20 together. (For panels you need to do both of the following or figure out a show format.) a. Solo ideas = 20 episode topics b. Interviews = list of 20 dream guests and get them invited! 5. Get your first 6 episodes recorded for launch – and STAY 6 episodes ahead if you can! As you work through 1 – 3 on the list, you’ll figure out names, branding, etc. It’s exciting going through the process whether you’re creative or not! If you think podcasting might be for you – let me know! In the meantime, if you haven’t had a listen already you can find Christina Talks here! bit.ly/christina-talks
