WANTED Sept. 2018 2019 CHAPTER EVENTS COORDINATOR We are now in September, the end of year will suddenly be upon us and we start to look forward to the new year. With that comes a change in our chapter leadership with people moving up in position. Every year we elect a new Events Coordinator. If you are interested or know of someone you would like to nominate, nominations will be accepted and voting (if more than 1 nominee) will take place at the December AIA business meeting. Please spread the word Responsibilities: - Chair the annual Golf Tournament Committee, organize the event, date, prizes and sponsorships. - Develop and coordinate Archtober events, including publicity, programs, etc. - Assists President in coordinating Special Events. Qualifications: - Must be registered and in good standing with the AIA El Paso chapter. CALL FOR ENTRIES Sept. 2018 AIA El Paso, Design Awards Gala Presented by DWS Building Supply AIA El Paso Chapter's Design Awards recognizes outstanding architectural and urban design by architects, emerging professionals, and students practicing in El Paso, to promote public interest in architectural design excellence. Winning entries will demonstrate high-quality design solutions that are appropriate and responsive to the needs of the end users, the urban context, and the environment. The jury will look at the projects to understand what criteria were most important to the designers: form, function, sustainability, etcetera. This year's Jury Chair is Michael Malone, FAIA; founding principal of Malone Maxwell Borson Architects. Award recipients will be announced and recognized at the Annual AIA El Paso Design Awards Gala, on October 19, 2018, at the El Paso Club. Winning entries will be published on the chapter's website www.aiaelpaso.org.
