Roles and service offerings of national convention bureaus • NCBs promote and sell their country globally to create a brand as a destination for holding meetings, DESTINATION incentives and conventions. MARKETING • Create a marketing platform for local business events industry players through trade shows, familiarisation trips etc. • NCBs provide support to regional or city convention bureaus in bidding for key events through activities such SUPPORT IN as document preparation and presentation. BIDDING SERVICES Delegate boosting The convention bureau assists with providing input into the development of a delegate boosting plan for the conference with the aim of increasing delegate numbers. This plan will be co- developed between the association and the convention bureau. Part of the bureau’s contribution towards the delegate boosting plan will include destination marketing collateral including maps, postcards or other customised collateral.
