ABOUT ALLSTAR CHEERLEADING Get ready for excitement - we are here to put on a show of cheer-ability! Allstar Exceptional Athlete Competitive Teams put together a one and a half to two minute action packed routine set to upbeat music. The routine consists of tumbling, stunts, motions, jumps, dance, and cheers. They perform for friends, family, and a panel of judges to earn a special award. These cheerleaders have their own fans! Purpose and Goals of Exceptional Athlete Teams: To give children and people with disabilities the opportunity to be a part of a sporting organization aiding in peer-to-peer interaction, building confidence, and giving them a platform to fit it. To contribute to a healthy lifestyle through exercise and physical fitness. To demonstrate courage and determination, experience joy and success, and participate in the social aspects of friendship and teamwork in a safe and encouraging environment. To know and understand a person's beliefs, ideals and abilities, creating tolerance and using positive words to foster independence and successful relationhips. ROCKSTAR EXCEPTIONAL ATHLETE TEAM PHILOSOPHY At Rockstar Cheer & Dance, we build more than just athletes - we build characteristics in our children that will help them succeed in all aspects of their lives. We always put safety first, and take pride in teaching correct technique in everything we do. We believe that in order to succeed and perform skills safely, we need to be mentally and physically strong. We dedicate time every practice to condition our bodies and our minds. We do team building activities and provide guidance on setting and achieving goals, both individually and as a team. Positive reinforcement is key to our coaching staff, and will be consistently applied throughout the competitive season. It is our philosophy that it does not matter if we come in first or last – as long as we are dedicated and working hard to the best of our ability, we have already won without stepping a foot onto the mat. That being said, we are definitely a very competitive program. However, instead of focusing on 1st place, we focus on building the qualities that make a 1st place squad. BENEFITS “People of all ages can improve the quality of their lives and reduce the risks of developing coronary heart disease, hypertension, some cancers and type 2 diabetes with ongoing participation in moderate physical activity and exercise. Daily exercise will also enhance one’s mental well-being and promote healthy musculoskeletal function throughout life.” (Len Kravitz, PhD – The 25 Most Significant Health Benefits of Physical Activity and Exercise). Team sports can offer your Exceptional Athlete the encouragement to find their voice, develop self-confidence and come out of their shell. Competing on an Exceptional Athlete team allows their personalities to shine as they showcase their newly found skills!
