Our Purpose
Both on and off the court, Oakdale aspires to be a champion club, and this aspiration is built from a deep
understanding of the dual meaning of the word ‘champion’.
‘A person or team who has surpassed all rivals in a sporting contest of competition.’
‘Someone who vigorously supports a person or cause.’
So, we aspire to produce champion teams. Teams that win titles and are respected not just for the result, but
also the style and spirit in which we play the game. But much deeper is our desire to help girls and young
women grow and develop. To be the best they can be. To create lasting friendships; develop new skills;
become strong and resilient. To be respectful and respected. We see netball as a bonding agent - the glue
the connects us. As team mates as colleagues and as friends. And we use that bond to support our champion
cause: an environment that develops and supports strong, happy, healthy young women.
Thats what makes Oakdale Netball Club a champion club.
About Oakdale
Oakdale Netball Club was formed in 1962 by a small group of women who resided at Oaklands Park and
Warradale, hence the name ‘Oakdale.’ Oakdale Netball Club was admitted to SANA (Netball SA) State
League Competition in 1982. A compelling feature of the club has always been its commitment to community,
and this is reflected in high levels of participation at club events and in its support of community initiatives.
Oakdale draws athletes from many suburbs around Adelaide and has grown from a single team, to a major
force in Netball, with no less than 20 teams playing at all age levels, including teams in both the Premier
League and Premier League Reserves Division. Run by Netball SA, the Premier League is South Australia’s
premier netball competition and a development pathway for grooming athletes for the Suncorp Super Netball
Championship team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Athletes including Australian representative Michelle den Dekker, Rebecca Sanders, and Peta Scholz began
their playing careers at Oakdale Netball Club. We also have current Oakdale athletes who are members of
the 2020 Southern Force Australian National League team. At present we also have 6 players representing
the State in the underage representative teams. We are excited to watch their future development.
The club has been extremely competitive, finishing in the top four of the Premier League Premiership table
in 2018, 2019 and 2020 under the guidance of experience coaching personnel Vanessa Dempsey and Brian
Lines.
We are proud of our reputation as a family friendly club. We are a major source of high quality athletes to
the highest levels of state competition, state representation and in some cases, on national and international
stages.

OakdaleNetballClubWhy you will be Stronger in Purple Structure Oakdale Netball Club is managed by dedicated volunteer team, all of who tirelessly provide their skills, time and assistance to ensure the club can offer a variety of structured programs. We are a local community sports club, our major source of revenue is generated from membership fees, fundraising initiatives, donations and sponsorship received from generous businesses. These funds are then reinvested into the club for the benefit of all members. Why netball? Netball has retained its position as the leading team sport and highest participation for females in sport in Australia. Every week, thousands of players and supporters head to courts including Priceline Stadium to participate in or support the netballers. With this level of participation, nearly everyone knows a netballer and we’d like to help players and supporter lean more about your business, through sponsorship of our Club. What we offer you Oakdale Netball Club is considered on of the ‘big’ clubs in Adelaide with 250+ players each year (and we are growing!) One of our strengths is communication to our community. We currently hold a 1,700+ following on Facebook with a high interaction rate on each of our posts. We are seen and we are heard. In addition to an online presence we have a large number of teams who participate within the AMND and City Night netball competition which attracts over 3,000 people to each game day. Opportunities with Oakdale Oakdale Netball Club values relationships between our Club and our Corporate Partners. This partnership is tailored for a company to provide individual player full sponsorship for
an individual selected as a 2021 Contracted Player in our AMND League or Inter 1 team. This
partnership will officially commence at the start of the 2021 Winter AMND season and conclude at
the end of the 2021/22 Summer City Night season.
PARTNERSHIP INVESTMENT: $825 including GST per year (1 year investment)
• Acknowledgment as a Player Partner of Oakdale Netball Club in 2021.
• 3 posts (minimum) post to our Facebook page including link to website/supporting social media platforms,
imagery and supporting text reaching to our current 1,700 and growing following. Content to be supplied
