Our Lady of Kāpiti School Te Kura o te Whaea Tapu o Kāpiti Newsletter - Tuesday 3 August 2021 Message from our Principal Kia ora koutou katoa - Greetings to you all Welcome to our first newsletter for Term 3. We can’t believe that it is already August, the year is just flying by. What a lovely way to start off the Term with our special Grandparents/Grandfriends Mass which was held at the church on Friday. We had quite a few Grandparents who had come from a distance to celebrate with us and many who had not been to the Mass or our church before. It was also lovely to see the children sharing their learning around the classrooms with their family. A huge thank you to the families that donated books to our school, we really appreciate your support. This term, our RE Catholic Social Teaching Principle schoolwide focus is Solidarity - which is about recognising others as our brothers and sisters and actively working for their Our Lady of Kāpiti School wishes to welcome all good. In our connected humanity, we are invited to our new students and their families to our school. build relationships - Whakawhanaungatanga. All for Jodie Mos NE—Rm 1, Oscar O’Malley NE—Rm 1, one, one for all! Sawyer Green NE—Rm 1, We are looking forward to celebrating our Welcome Assembly on Thursday 5 August in the hall and officially Chris Rejeesh NE—Rm 1, welcome all those students and their families that have Lilly Wallace-Senior NE—Rm 1, joined us since Term 1. It would be lovely to have some Indie Leackie-Somerville NE—Room 1 of our families join us to welcome new members of our school community. Kia noho te Atua ki a koe - God be with you - Viv SOK (SUPPORT OUR KIDS). SoK is our school parent’s association and we would love you to join us. Our SoK group is made up of parents just like yourself who want to support the running of the school in practical ways. They co-ordinate school fundraising events, support school events and help create a strong school community. Message from The Attendance Dues Team Thank you to all our regular payers and to those who have made full payment on your Attendance Dues account. We would like to remind you that the Attendance Dues are a compulsory charge for enrolment at a Catholic school. Please note the Term 3 invoice will be posted to all families shortly. Please check that your invoice looks how you expect it to - are all your children listed, are your payments showing correctly? We value your feedback. To avoid receiving overdue reminders, please ensure your regular payments are continuing. If it is affordable, please also consider increasing the amount of each payment if the balance is not yet tracking to full repayment by the end of the year. Payment options are: Full amount or automatic payment via Internet banking to Archdiocese of Wellington Attendance Dues, Westpac bank account 03 0518 0000400 00, payment references should be your dues account number and your name. Pay online using your Visa Debit or Credit card at www.wn.catholic.org.nz/attendance-dues with your dues account number and your name as references. Financial assistance is available to families experiencing financial hardship (loss of income/redundancy, family reasons, etc.). It is a condition of the assistance application that the family has an affordable regular payment in place. Please ensure that you follow the markings on the road. We’ve had complaints about school users going the wrong way and also exiting through the entry.
