Overview • We are planning a special 2022 Battlefield trip with visits to 3 countries. The tour will be from 3 to 13 October 2022. • In Belgium, after a night in Brussels, we will start with the Waterloo Battlefield and continue to learn more about the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne, where we will be based for 3 nights. • In Luxembourg, we will visit this great capital city and learn about the Battle of the Bulge, with an emphasis on the American role in the battle with visits to 2 small town museums in this tiny country. • In France, we will end in Paris, after visiting Reims to learn about military history at Verdun and taste great champagne.

What’s Included in this Tour? • 10 night’s lodging with daily breakfasts. • Transportation to all tour destinations and venues, unless it is appropriate to walk. • Entrance fees to all venues included in the tour. • Dedicated professional guide during the whole tour. • Tour Managers Hank and Anne during the whole trip. • Tips to drivers and guides.
What’s Not Included • Airfare to Europe. • Meals other than breakfast. • Luggage portage from coach to hotel rooms. • Any special purchases during the tour by participants, to include at the hotel stays for extra services or food. • Any purchases during tour stops other than entrance fees. • Any other personal purchases. • Travel Insurance is not included, but we can help with purchases if desired by individuals.
General Terms & Conditions • This is summary of key items but not all requirements: • Accept the terms and conditions of our vendor, Europe Express and transportation sub-vendors. • We will require all participants to be fully vaccinated, to include a 3rd shot if required by the vendor or the countries we are visiting. Proof will require an original vaccination certificate. • Any health questionnaires and/or other required tests by country and local government officials. • Deposits are non refundable.
Day 2 Waterloo 4 October • After an hour & half drive from Brussels, we will learn about the pivotal battle of Waterloo which ended a 23 year period of war between France and 7 coalitions of Europe countries. • We will first visit the memorial museum which explains the battle in detail, then view the panorama painting of the battle and view the Lion Mound. • After lunch at the café in Waterloo, we will continue on to Bastogne to overnight 3 days in the Hotel Leo Station.

Day 3 Bastogne Belgium 5 October • We will start with the Bastogne War Museum and view the Marsden Monument. • We will then visit the Easy Company sector during the Battle of the Bulge made famous by the Band of Brothers TV miniseries. • After time for lunch, we will walk to the 101st Airborne Museum • We overnight in Bastogne

Day 4 Luxembourg Museums 6 October • We will take a coach ride to first visit the Patton Museum in Ettelbruck and have lunch there. • Next, we visit Luxembourg National Museum of Military History. • Overnight again in Bastogne after our return coach ride.

Day 5 Luxembourg City 7 October • We will transfer to Luxembourg on our coach. • We will take a walking Tour of Luxembourg City, and perhaps visit the Ducal Palace if open. • On our way to Reims, we will visit American Cemetery, where LTG Patton and many of the fallen soldiers from the Battle of the Bulge are buried. • We overnight in Reims.

Day 6 Verdun WW I Tour 8 October • We will visit the Verdun Battlefield area. Stops will include: • The 2 floor Verdun Memorial Museum • L’Ossuaire Cemetery • Fort Douaumont (with the nearby Trenches of Bayonets) • Fort Vaux • We will walk to a Champagne Tasting Winery in Reims in the late afternoon. • Overnight in Reims
Day 7 Epernay Tasting & Tour 9 October • We will view vineyards and sample Champagne at 2 of the great wineries in the Epernay wine region. • We will also have lunch in between stops at these wineries. • Overnight in Reims
Day 8 Châteaux de Vaux-Le-Vicomte & Paris 10 October • Depart Reims on the way to Châteaux de Vaux-Le-Vicomte • Tour the wonderful gardens and Châteaux • Continue on to Paris

How to Reserve Your Spot • We need a firm 16-20 folks with a max of 30 to guide you on this special tour. • There will probably be a $1,000 or more non- refundable deposit. We estimate about 4,000- $4500 per person but it will depend upon the contracts we are able to negotiate. • First, we need you to respond with your interest. There is no obligation. Then, we will develop the trip and provide cost details. • Our contact info is on the next slide.
Pre and Post Tour Options • As with our past tours, we have some options to enhance your trip. Here is a small sample: • We will also host an AmaWaterways tour from 13-20 October 2020. We have a discounted “Essence of Burgundy & Provence” sailing from Arles to Charlon-Sur-Saone on the AmaCello. • Extra hotel stays both pre and post. • Special tours with any of our vendors either pre or post depending on your interests.
