MAKING CHICAGO A NO-KILL CITY Our story. Since 2008, One Tail at a Time (widely known as “OTAT”) has rescued more than 2,000 dogs and continues an 89% success rate at keeping dogs out of the city shelter by running Chicago’s only shelter diversion program. OTAT’s Community Pet Days, held twice a year, have also served more than 2,000 dogs with free vaccinations, microchipping, spay/neuter vouchers, and much more. The impact made by One Tail at a Time has been completely reliant on volunteers, donors, and supportive companies like yours. Thank you for taking time to learn more about OTAT’s work, and for your consideration of a sponsorship that will save more lives!
CONTENTS • GRILLED Impact In 2017, more than 550 dogs were rescued and adopted into loving families through OTAT. OTAT dogs come in all shapes and sizes, from all different types of backgrounds. Some dogs need a little more help than others. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, receive their vaccinations, and undergo any special surgery or medical treatment that they need. Once they're ready for adoption, dogs can meet loving families at our Bucktown Adoption Center until their perfect match is found. For most OTAT dogs, this doesn't take long!
CONTENTS • GRILLED Impact Our programs are progressive, innovative, and specific to the needs of the community. OTAT runs Chicago’s only shelter diversion program, CRISP. Four days each week, volunteers are at animal control to divert pets from entering the shelter. OTAT hosts Community Pet Days in the city's most undeserved neighborhoods to keep dogs happy, healthy, and in their homes. In 2017, OTAT launched an "ISO Program" that is giving more chances to Chicago's sick and contagious dogs than ever before.
CONTENTS • GRILLED Support The funding critical to saving each dog's life is generously donated by individuals, businesses, and companies who care. Sponsors make generous donations to waive adoption fees, offset the cost of events, kick-start new programs, and more. Hundreds of individual donors make a monthly donation so that less time is spent fundraising, and more time can be spent saving lives. Local businesses host their own events to benefit and promote adoption through One Tail at a Time.
