St. Andrew’s College Located on the campus of, and affiliated with, the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Master Of Divinity (MDiv) Four year program, including a Ministry Practicum to fulfill the UCC’s requirements for SME
MDiv: Admission requirements • An undergraduate degree or its educational equivalent OR • One year of university study plus an assessment of experience and aptitude for higher study • Candidacy within the UCC required BY THE END OF YEAR TWO if the student intends to pursue ordination within the UCC
MDiv: Program Overview years 1 and 2 Year One Year Two • 10 courses – can be taken over two • 8 courses and 6 units of Clinical Pastoral years fulltime in Saskatoon, or three Education (CPE) years at a distance, part time • Year Two courses must be taken on site in Saskatoon • Most introductory courses are • CPE may be taken at any CPE site (there is available online one in Saskatoon) • Year One courses typically include: • Year Two courses typically include: Pastoral Care, Preaching, upper level Hebrew Scriptures, Christian courses in Bible, Theology, History, Ethics, Scriptures, History, Theology, electives Christology, Ethics, Worship, • Required courses include Integration Christian Education Seminar that involves a weekly field placement
Mdiv Program Overview: Ministry Residency, years 3 and 4 • 5 Learning Circles and a Ministry Practicum • Taken over 20 months, with the student “resident” at their learning site • This is a full-time program with half-time study and half-time ministry • Integrates experiences in ministry site with learning in the learning circles • Learning circles taken in 5-8 day intensive format in Saskatoon and include: • Skills in ministry; UCC History, Theology, Polity; Indigenous ministry contexts (includes participating in a learning circle with Sandy Saulteaux Spiritual Centre); Skills in administration and local mission; Vocational identity • The Ministry Practicum is part of UCC’s SME process; students serve in Learning Sites with Supervisors, Lay Supervision Teams and are accountable to a Learning Covenant. • The Learning Covenant also includes student sharing monthly learning reflection with a College appointed Faculty Advisor throughout the Residency

Dual Degree: Admission requirements • High school completion AND • Admission to a recognized university (normally the University of Saskatchewan) • Candidacy within the UCC required at the end of the fourth year of the program if the student intends to pursue ordination within the UCC • Program is aimed at recent high school graduates intending to pursue full-time study, but can be adapted
BTh – MDiv Dual Degree During the BTh program students will do course Program Overview work in a university major, English, Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, Biblical Bachelor of Theology (BTh) Year One: September to May Studies, Theology, Church History, Christian Ethics Course Work and Biblical languages. Year Two: September to May Course Work Year Three: September to May In the MDiv component of the program students Course Work will complete a unit of clinical pastoral education, do upper level course work in Biblical, theological Master of Divinity (MDiv) and ethical studies and complete courses Year Four: May to September Clinical Pastoral Education* in preaching, worship and pastoral care. September to May Course Work Year Five: September to September During the final 20 months of the MDiv program Ministry Residency students will complete their Ministry Residency in Year Five/Six: September to April a Learning Site with a community of faith, returning Ministry Residency to the College for five learning circles with faculty and student peers *CPE may be completed the summer following fourth year.

New Director for the DLM Program: Kathleen James-Cavan Designated Lay Ministry Diploma (DLM) Three year program, including Ministry appointment to fulfill the UCC’s requirements for SME
DLM: Admission requirements • Completion of one prerequisite (Licensed Lay Worship Leader, Learning on Purpose with the Centre for Christian Studies, Lay Certificate in Theology, or Prior Learning Assessment) • Students must be Candidates prior to applying or be declared a Candidate shortly afterwards in order to attend their 1st learning circle • Students must have an SME appointment (or be in process) prior to applying to the DLM Program. • Students must have a confirmed SME appointment prior to attending their 1st learning circle (they can start their appointment after their 1st circle but it must be confirmed PRIOR to attending the first circle).
DLM: Program Overview • Six Learning Circles (10 days each, at St. Andrew’s College) over 3 years • Three years of Supervised Ministry Education • Three complementary courses (semester-long, or equivalent as approved by Director) • With continuous intake, the DLM does not have a “year 1, year 2, year 3” model; students study together whether it is their 1st or 6th circle • Students from across the country – builds community of support, connection, and understanding
